how do people put up with this 5 days a week?
>why doesn't he just stop pushing the boulder bro?
>>29076850>been working from home since 2020i don't know what other retards are doing
>>29076850
>>29076850>>29076857At my last company I worked for, they went remote during covid. During that time they had an explosion in hiring talent because my field has almost no remote jobs. because of this they were able to hire people way overqualified for the role. The quality of our products went way up, deliveries were happing on time, business saw a massive spike because of how happy our clients were. The retarded boomer execs decided business doing well and employees being happy was a terrible concept, and they needed to lick the ass of the other boomer shareholders and forced us all back into office. I told them I wanted a 10% pay raise to be competitive with other in-office jobs in this field. They said no, offered me 2% which was less than what I was making when factoring in inflation. so I said fuck em, left, and now work in office for 20% more than I was making before. Anyone smart that was working with me did the same thing. Anyone remaining was either new to the industry so they couldn't get out with only 1-2 years of experience, or they sucked at their job and couldn't find something else.So now this explosion of talent they got during/post covid eroded to newfags and jeets who sucked at their job, and their clients were absolutely fuming because of it. They took on a shit load more buisness in that ~5 years, then lost a solid 30% of their engineering team in a year, almost all of them being the top performers. I'm still barely making more than I was when I factor in the extra time I spend commuting now but at least the corperate dicksucker boomers are seeing their precious KPIs tank from their dumbass retardation.
>>29076850I take the train. It takes longer but far better than being stuck in traffic.
>>29076853Acme pilled Work is a humiliation ritual

What's the grossest thing you guys have ever put in your ass. For me it's my parent's bedframe. They have this post that was a few inches in diameter. It fit real nice up there.
>>29076850based niggsan at 0:18.i "put up" with this by working from home.
we can overthrow kings but we cannot overthrow private enterpriseI hate when people drive behind me I want to go below the speed limitfuck off and go to the left sidestop driving behind meI wanna crooze

>>29076850I don't, most days I will see three or four cars on my commute. It sucks working those hours but at least I get to exercise the car.
>>29076857i have a real job that provides value to my community.
>>29076985Leave home an hour early. Eat breakfast at local diner or restaurant you can walk to and from work. Use the extra time to unwind.

I live ten minutes from work so not my problem
>>29077017Same. I take a couple backroads and I'm there, and the only time I see another car is when I cross the main artery.Hell, on days the company is providing lunch I just walk so I can be a fat fuck without gaining weight.

But God forbid you hit double your sales targets but your phone call response rate is 5% slower than average or something. For some reason all accountability disappeared when boomers took over, but they still enforce it on the younger generations. >t. I've never had a good boomer boss, sometimes gen x are ok.
>>29077332I don't want to hear people talking through my speakers when I drive. This includes (((advertising))) and podcasts.

>>29078165No problem, you just react properly as each one fills the gap by allowing more space. I did this for years and never had any problems.
>Work night shift>Commute is a straight highway shot, no street traffic to deal with>Get to leave for work after the rush hour traffic dies down>Leave work early enough before the wave comes throughThis has been the sole determining factor as to why I havent left yet.
>>29078369I work like 20min on foot/5min on car away from home and I hit the Tim Horton's on the way (for which I get a discount) on PaydayLife is good because I clock in at 9pm and leave at 8 when there is zero traffic and I get to sleep for like a third of my shift
My Tesla drives me to work

>>29076850If I had to commute every day I would be using public transit. I don't care how brown it gets there at least I could watch videos.>>29077286This is a commutecel wishful cope. Timezones, holidays mismatch, culture, language/accent, and work ethic are major obstacles when hiring overseas remotely. AI is still only an accelerator, not a replacer - talking as someone literally building agents for a living to replace software engineers (we still need the software engineers in the loop, and LLMs are expensive).>>29078187Depends on coworkers and manager.>>29079693I fucking wish they could so I could tap tap on my laptop while commuting. See webm related.
You get a scooter for anything other than work or groceries. Seriously, most people take their car just to go a few miles down the road and they'd rather sit in traffic than do something about it. Normies are weird.
>>29076850music
>>29076850I legit took a weird 2pm to 11pm shift at work because it allows me to fully avoid rush hour traffic. Takes like 25 minutes for my 28 mile commute. I also get $3 an hour more for working night hours.
>>29082395$3/hr more? Fuck me that would be nice. My shift differential is $0.50. same retarded shift. I hate my job but I am golden handcuffed.
>>29076850Been working all remote except occasionally going to meet with clients since before COVID.>>29077286>If your job can be done remotely you're vulnerable to being replaced by AI, or worse, jeetsTaken to the extreme, any job whether remote or not is at risk of being replaced by AI/robots at some arbitrary point in the future. This is not at all a useful comment.>t. Principal engineerCoincidental anecdote though, my first job out of college was the jeet reverse. I was hired to fix the shit jeet outsourcing caused. I have a suspicion someday soon someone is going to hire me because they went full retard on AI, used up all their money on token-sinks, and found the output to both be sub-par and financially unviable.
>>29082395>2pm to 11pm shifti wouldn't mind that at all
>>29076850I commute at 70mph then take ans exit ramp to the job at the city. You're not actually supposed to live in the city and put around in traffic ar 0.2 mph
>>29076850By not being little pink sensitive pussies like OP.
>>29083207>I don't value my time at all>>29083194Not as great as you think. Your free time is now split across wee hours of the morning and whatever time you get up before work. It's the shift that gives you probably the least amount of sunlight, especially if you have to do overtime.
>>29076850for the past six years i've been taking almost an hour to get to work and i only recently found out the other route got me there in half the time lol
>>29083226i can't do early shifts like 5-6 am. i wake up at 7-8 anyway, so there's still a decent amount of time if i need to do some personal stuff
>>29083232I also hate 5-6 but at least I have a lot of daylight afterwards. What sucks about 2nd (typically 2-10:30) is that overtime becomes 12:30 or even 2:30am when you leave work. Now your cycle is shifted from waking up at 7-8 to waking up anywhere between 10-12, and you leave for work at about 1:00. You're extra fucked if you live with anyone else and can't make noise at night.
>>29083232it took me about a year to adapt to a 5:00 to 14:00 shift. But man, after doing so, it's so nice getting off so early in the afternoon.also no one else is really around at 5:00, so the first 3 or 4 hours of the day just fly by.(I was a lifelong night owl, if i can adapt to this, anyone can.)
>>29083232Working nights actually worked out pretty well for me when I did it. I'm a night owl so having my night time be the early morning made it easier to do regular human stuff. Waking up and eating breakfast after dark still fucks with you though
>>29083245>is that overtime becomes 12:30 or even 2:30am when you leave workyeah true, there's actually a job posting i see where applicants are asked what shifts they want (morning, afternoon, night, in order of least to most $ per hour), as far as i can tell there's no overtime at all.
>>29083683If they run three shifts I guaran-fucking-tee you there is overtime, especially as a technician/repairman. Most places have been running their stuff harder and faster, and paying for fewer mechanics for a long time now. Shit is always breaking down and they always need more bodies. Work as a line worker and not a repair guy, half of your job might be sitting around watching a schmuck like me fix your machine.
>>29083194>>29083155I enjoy it. I wake up around 11 and fuck around before work, then go to the gym after work when it's low traffic. Gf stays up late too.
>>29076850I had a 4 day a week schedule and went back to a 5 day a week, I couldn't fucking do it and will never do it again. Now I have a 3 day a week schedule, I have to suffer through 12 hour shifts plus some overtime but damn it beats being a commutercuck.I'm about to quit that and get some part time shit where I work 1-2 days a week and just live in a camper. I'm fucking done being a slave. The most valuable thing you have is your time, comfort, and health. I want to actually live my life and be out innawoods all day.
>>29076865*dies*
>>29083716Skill issue>>29083690This is the mindset to have, good job anon.
>>29076850I don't, I killed myself until I spawned with enough skills to work remote only
>>29083690Thinking about working is draining, how do people work 12+ hours and then go to the gym after?t. not a fatass
I work 6am-2pm. Just enough time to avoid rush hour
>>29085282if you're working 12+ hours, I would probably go to the gym before work
>>29076850By not living in muttland.
>>29077383>>29078354this is the correct wayyou're all getting baited by animal-brained prescription demons into participating in their izzat exchange economy (this is a microcosm of their general social programming). you can simply place yourself above it. still might get t-boned, but that's not an excuse to be reckless when you're dealing with animals dailyinstead of taking pride in cutting off and break checking that asshole who didn't signal (you taught HIM a lesson didn't you?), realize you want to avoid being near that person at all, let them speed ahead, and feel proud that you know how to place yourself in safer situations and control your behavior independent of the rabble. you'll get sucked in sometimes, but with practice you should be able to figure out how to drive like a human being who wants to be alive. if enough people do this, conditions won't continue unraveling. start doing this and watch the people around you change how they drive too, it works.>oh yeah, i can just not be retarded
