nu-honda is about to be chink-tier quality
>>29077598How the fuck did they manage to cram a B18C in there????
my service book says to change sparkplugs at 120k KM, but should I if car runs fine?
>>29077770An ounce of prevention...
>>29077726Goddamn it.
>>29077770keep it by the book is my recommendation if and when you can
Why are enthusiast Hondas so expensive now? It seems to me that their abundance and budget price when they were new should keep them cheap and affordable, but all I see is not rusted barely running and driving Integras for 6k+ dollars, preludes for 10k+, Civic Si for 8k+, and S2000s for 30k+. It's not fucking fair. Even the basic econoscrap DX Civics, Integras, and RSXs are selling for much more than an equivalent condition Corolla or Maxima or other Jap cars.
>>29078231>basic econoscrap DX Civics, Integra>selling for much more than an equivalent condition Corolla or Maxima or other Jap cars.Because everyone has known for a long time that the civic/Integra mogged the competition during the double wishbone era. They've also all been crashed, so numbers have thinned. Consider it the double wishbone tax.
>>29078289>Consider it the double wishbone tax. This, if you want to be seen in a non rental car, even a clapped the fuck out non-rental you have to pay, otherwise just submit to normdom.
>>29078231>Crashed by bad drivers>Totalled by bad mods and shit owners>Rusted out>Double Wishbone tax>Everything else decent, reliable and fun shot up so much in price that people pivoted to this>New cars won't ever be like that again due to regulations (fat, not NA, spyware, facecam, kill switch etc.). Which creates FOMO and people not selling theirs.
Hey. Just bought a 2009 Civic. Going to be installing a new head unit before I put insurance on it. Looks similar to this one except less shinny. Paid $3000 and it has under 300k km anyways.
>>29078443I know if I sell mine I'll never find another like it. I've always hated the color, but cars of equal condition and spec are hard to find now even if you have the money.
>>29078523>Paid $3000 and it has under 300k kmThat's a good ass deal Anon, my Honda has like 298,000km on it with an aftermarket head unit and I wouldn't even take $3,000 for it.
>>29078762i would 100% take $3000 for my 2000 shitbox with a bluetooth cd changer adapter that barely works and a backyard workshop clutch line
>challenge my newly crippled self to swap my two manual Hondas around so the TSX wouldn't get totally roasted by the sun>actually manage to do it without much issueI can't see myself daily driving a manual anytime soon with the femoral nerve palsy from the hip replacement but I feel better now that I was able to move them.
>>29078837And now you're where you belong. Hopefully with the help of a more able friend I can get AC working in this to make it a good car to sell. I need to get some extra money to stay afloat.
89,000 miles and still going perfectly

Is there somewhere I can buy (in europe) a 6th gen type R body panels for a ek3, chink-shit-cheap? And how much of a nigger would I be for doing that?
anyone with a manual eurospec 1.5t do a coolant change? I got 5 liters of oem coolant but I'm getting mixed results if it will be enough and the manual is absolutely useless, might as well just order another liter I guessalso do you guys change the brake fluid? never done it but I guess it's time, got 8 years/105k KM
8k away from 200k on my pilot
Placed an order for a Super-One here in Japan. The wait is at least 6 months. The government subsidy makes it too good. Total cost will be about 2,000,000 yen. I have home charging and solar panels, so it's a no-brainer to go for an EV. Now the hard part, waiting...
>typically replace CM batt every 3 years even if its good>try to get 4 years out of it in case im wasting money>it dies at 4 yearsGuess im going back to 3 year replacement to avoid problems.
>>29082726It's cute, I do like it. That is an absurdly good subsidy. Where I live they're 35% more expensive than a Fit and I just can't justify that. Rather have a Swift, even though it doesn't have "bulldog styling".

>>29083524Imagine being a beautiful EX-L J motor and end up in the hands up this piece of shit
>>29083331My original 2017 battery still works, I did replace it last year because I did a eurotour and wanted to make sure I don't have issues but I still use the old battery on an old car
>>29083580Based, I dont know mine dies so quick, I think its all the short tripping and repeated cranking, my CM lives under a carport so the battery is never baking in the sun either, original 2003 alternator still works when battery jumper man tested it when we got running, its a fucking miracle.
What's up with Honda lately?>1.5T head gaskets, oil dilution>somehow turned the bulletproof 2.0 K20 into a headgasket issue with the atkinson cycle>fumbled EVs so badly they crippled the company>new V6 seems to have some problems tooHow did it come to this, bros? How much worse is it going to get?
>>29084188All cars are horrible now due to emissions, they're being expected to be ultra efficient, but super powerful, well you're gonna compromise on reliability due to physics, I personally wish they wouldn't bother, I've never met a 4 cylinder Honda Accord owner who said "I wish this motherfucker was more powerful even if it made the car less reliable"
>>29084205Blame normies getting in on 0-60 numbers. It's easy to cheat with gearing so I don't see the point.
>>29084339True, normies, especially Honda Accord owners kinda want it all, a luxury cruiser that's also a sports car but not uncomfortable, but it gets high 30s mpg, I think the closest they ever came is the CM, but the CM is very loud with the road noise and rides uncomfortably compared to a MacPherson strut 9th gen onward, it just is an absolute shitmobile, but it doesn't have this "I need a $5000 headgasket job" ontop of all the other bullshit it needs when old, we're gonna see a lot of beautiful 10th gen 1.5T Accords being sold at bargain prices (just add head gasket) in the future, it's hard enough selling a CM owner on lower control arms, let alone a cylinder head off job on a 1.5T Honda with miles that isn't worth much, which could work out for the DIY guys, 10th gen Accord is absolutely incredible when everything is working.
How come 7th gen civics are so unpopular?
>>29084796>sohc with a timing belt like a 1996 Civic (did switch to coil packs which was kinda cool)>not even a double wishbone front like a 1996 Civic>all while the 7th gen CM Accord is getting the finest double wishbone suspension and a K24A>7th gen Civic Si is a base model RSX engine that cannot rev (underrated car because it was a K20A hatch with fully independent suspension when all the Fit got was an L15 with torsion beam rear)The earlier 6th gen Civic and 8th gen Civic that came out in 2006 was just really great compared to the 7th gen, yes it was a strut front economical car, but you didn't deal with timing belt nonsense, you just did your maintenance and drove, not only that the car looked a lot newer and nicer, the interior looked and was built better, 8th gen Civic was just a good car, and the FG2/FA5 form 2006-2011 were truly an Si with an 8200 rpm engine.
>>29084800They killed off all the sporty options below the TypeR in Japan too. The EK had the SiR with a B16, as well as the VTi with 3-stage VTEC, but both disappeared with the 7th gen. Nothing but commuter cars in their stead.
>>29084813That's a goddamn shame, really speaks to the collapse of the Japanese economy, the Accord stayed pretty based because it's a rather upscale car, but the Civic being a bread and butter car for Honda, cost cutting is going to happen there first.
>>29084800Well, that was a great answer, thanks.
>>29084188>>29084205>>29084350Maybe because the accord doesnt exist in Europe but I have not heard anything about the 1.5T civics blowing gaskets in Europe. Only mechanics ragging on the 1.0 engine due to the wetbelt. I don't think the emissions and power thing are an issue because by that logic the European version should be worse off due to the extremely strict emissions we have. The new civic hybrid with the 2.0L hybrid engine also has 0 issues.I don't know whether it's a parts issue, assembly issue, maintenance issue or gas octane issue. But it's still wild to me that Honda's are blowing headgaskets this much in the US and Canada.
>>29084350Normies rely on automotive review websites and THOSE kinda want it all. As a normie who now owns a Honda Accord, I landed on it by googling what the highest-rated hybrid midsize sedans were, then picking the most attractive one (i.e. the one with the least terrible styling). My guess is that's what most of us do.I know you all think I drive a soulless shitbox/cuckbox, but considering what my criteria were, I think I majorly lucked out.
>>29085184The Accord is purpose built to move humans and cargo comfortably at high speed reliably for a very long time, that is its soul.
remap?!!?!?!!
>>29085348I'm thinkin remaphttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-HqIzMU8u0
>>29085184Whats wrong with an accord? I drive a regular hybrid yaris too to save on gas cuz gas is more than 10$ a gallon where I live. Its even more for 98ron prem fuel (93aki) which I use in my Type R. Economy cars are great at what they do, keep the cost down and get you semi comfortably to ur destination. What else do you need really? I've done 2000 mile roadtrips in these little cars too. Looking down on someone because they dont drive an expensive performance car is retarded.
>>29085184>I know you all think I drive a soulless shitbox/cuckboxEveryone needs a daily. Half the Hondas people consider cool are tarted up eco boxes anyway.
>multiple 2024 its's for $45k, <20k miles near me>one is in blueBROS. BROOOOOOOS. I make like $181k and just want this as a fun car. Told myself I would lose 30lb before buying it but fuck me these deals are good.
>>29087721Based, the value is falling on its ass, time to buy.
For me it is the Acura TLX Type S, the best sedan.
Rip Honda, I can't believe this is how it ends
>go on marketplace looking for honda anything>d series ek with MODZZ - $7k>auto ek d series sedan bone stock - $6k>auto eg 'ready for swap' - $10k>multiple half finished k24 swapped integras and civics for $15k+>yellow ek type R replica $25k>scroll through pictures, D series with epic pod filterdoes anyone buy these? where do i find actual good cars for sale?
>>29089546Take the prelude pill. They are still somewhat exempt from the weeb tax.
>>29089546you live in the North East? bc that's what's going on over here. all the clean efs get sold p fast tho (minus the one that's asking for 10k+)
>>29089905i never see any preludes for sale except sometimes an older one that needs crash repair or something>>29089987australia
>>29089546The culture around these cars just sucks. They are old cars now, some of them classics, and they're still being treated like they're a dime a dozen.Anyone with a decent example is now unwilling to sell unless they absolutely have to, because it's just assumed the next owner is going to ruin their car, and they themselves will be unable to find an another one if they decide to come back. It's probably easier to find a close-enough 50s or 60s car than it is to come across a decent 90s Honda now.
FK7anon here, got around to sanding/repainting the damage on the FK8R wing. It really isn't that noticeable unless you look closely.
The only thing that gets me excited about honda are the collectible tin cans. Is it pure autism?
>>29090125once all the hondas are crashed and destroyed where will the shitkid boyracers go?
>>29090125>they're still being treated like they're a dime a dozen.Thats the tragic thing. And its not even just Hondas, you've still got clout chasers wanting to buy a 240SX to build (ruin with shit mods) like its the year 2004 or something when the days of this stupid shit should be over due to the collectibility of the car.
>>29090359Nah, they stopped making truly interesting cars a long time ago
>>29090529i've been thinking about this a lot lately after talking to older guys at work who all tell me the same story>had car in teens/20's>was pretty much a shitbox, everyone had one, wasn't worth anything etc etc>gets crashed or sold for scrap>now there's none left and the clean examples go for 100k+i made this mspaint image that sort of explains it
>>29090549The cycle is real, I see all the time guys ramping the hell out of a BRZ like they stole the shit, its like "oh my god thats a 6 speed rwd car and he just clutch dropped or crashed that collectible as fuck car", we need to encourage young men to just take care of their fucking shit, that way when you're an older man, you're not at the mercy of collector car pricing, you've got a nice one.
>>29090560>rampingRomping
Need a car for commuting. I was thinking either a 6th gen Civic hatch, because I really like the look, or a Fit. Any ideas or preferences between the 2?
>>29090769I would go for the Civic because Fits are getting overpriced at this point especially if you try to find a second-gen made in Japan.
>>29090560My boomer boss has a few supercars but he seemed happiest when I asked about his old Celica, because it just so happened to be his first car, and he's held onto it all this time.
>>29091094Thats really shit, it wouldnt matter if I got to the point where im daily driving twin turbo type s everyday, I will be talking about K series even when im old and have a gut at the Japanese classic car show
>>29091501Real shit*
>>29078838How much are you looking for anon? I don't know anyone down there, and shipping has gotten ridiculous, but I'm sure someone out there wants it.
>>29091094Real car guys are like that. My neighbor has a modified supercar, but will never sell his EM1, same basic story.
I'm in dire need of a new goymobile to drive me from place to place. I mainly want an Accord (Civics are fine too) since I've been driving Goyota for so many years. Is it worth getting a 5th or 6th gen out of nostalgia, or are they outclassed by everything that came after? If I wasn't a poorfag I'd get the latest gen, they genuinely look awesome as far as ordinary sedans go.
>>29092241Get a nice condition 7th Gen accord if you can, its old honda meets usable car.
My only car is a 2013 si with 200k km on it, I fully planned on driving this till the wheels fell off. I've had a lot of issues shifting the last few days to the point the only gears I could use reliably were 2nd and 4th. Today, the transmission got stuck in 3rd and the shifter is completely locked up. Just shifter cables and fluid change or am I fucked and should start looking for a new car I can't afford
>>29092932What I would to is save money for a blrebuukt transmission, and then save money to have it installed after getting a quote from a shop, because new cars are expensive and unreliable
>>29093221>blrebuuktRebuilt**
>>29092223Probably $2000-$2500. Previous owner is a friend of mine and her husband rebuilt the engine then lost interest when the gas tank needed replacing for some reason. Engine actually runs perfect just has the usual D series oil leaks. Transmission is crispy smooth. All the AC parts are still bolted up so hopefully I'll have it working for just the cost of r134a. The homie been real busy lately so I don't know when he'll be able to help me get it fixed up more.
>>29092932Did you change transmission fluid on time before? The transmission dying at 200k km is not something I would expect from a Honda.>Check fluid (especially for confetti)>Check cables>Check clutch (is it even releasing?)
>>29094008Kek manual Honda can die, or at least become grindy if someone has been beating the fuck out of it
I am genuinely convinced that the 7th gen coupe is the best looking civic of all time. (excluding the 5th gen obv)
>>29094193EK was the stylistic peak for me.
>>29094199It's not bad but I think the 7th gen coupe is pure sex. My dad had every single gen from the 4th to the 7th and I just fell in love with the em2. RIP 1998 ek dx tho, that car was beaut.
>>29094193You are retarded, firstly because you immediately contradict your statement and second you are just downright incorrect
>>29094186Ive driven the shittiest shitboxes of all time in Europe and Ive never ever seen a tranny dying before the car/engine. I guess if you really shift like shit on a manual they die.
Ive had bad experiences with 8th gen civic clutch master cylinders. They all click halfway thru travel. The exedy mafe in Japan one I put in a year ago just failed after creaking for months. Put an OEM in but I dont have high hopes. Is backdating to a 7th gen the only way to go?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p36NhDbXaqIFeel old yet?
>>29094395shitboxes in europe have 60hp and can't break their transmission no how matter dumb you shift. even the cheapest shitboxes in usa make 200hp and that's enough to chew synchros and then gears.
>>29095022Euro shitboxes make 100mph with that 60hp or 50mpg if you calm it down a bit. How's your truck going.
My mileage is getting high on my 2.0t accord. I love this car bros, I don’t want to ever get another
>>29095544Just take care of your shit and spend what needs to be spent and you'll keep it, my car was built in the freek a leek era and it still works.
>>29095017Hard to believe a Honda with a multiport injected K block and coil packs on it is retro but it is, I look at my dirty old CM engine and it may as well be a 2015 car, but you could get an engine like it as early as late 2002.
What's the consensus on a 2012 Honda Civic LX?
I used to have a crxGod dam it
>>29096212What happened to it
>>29096221I crashed it but it just needed new radiator support but I went to jail and my parents sold it to the crusher for 200, it was a white si with prelude si wheels
Let's say I need to buy a fun commuter for work. I need a NA engine and a manual transmissionWhat years of Accords and Civics should I look for? Which ones should I avoid? I've hear the new turbos aren't as reliable and I want to keep the car for a long time
>>29096341I would get a 2003-2007 Accord manual if you can find one, or the 2006-2025 Civic
You can always tell the heritage of a vehicle by its exhaust sound.Ferrari: Yep. Sounds like a Ferrari.Harley Davidson: Yes. A Harley.Honda: Of course. A lawnmower.

>>29098595Trade in the RX. The fuck you need 2 dailies for?
>>29098706Nah he should save the Type S from getting destroyed by accidents, the 20 inch rims getting banged, the low as fuck car getting scraped, and just use it for pleasure, Type S is not daily driver material even though it could, you really shouldn't if you care about the car not being destroyed.
>>29098711>[Integra] is not daily driver materialDamn, Honda has truly lost their way.
>>29098711Have you tried not living in the third world?
>>29098712The car itself is reliable, but it's the rims and everything getting smashed up you don't want, that's why it's common for guys to downsize to 18 inches on a Type r civic and run meatier tires>>29098713I'm trying but it's California and they don't fix anything with the tax money.
>>29098716Then get smaller wheels and meatier tires also.
>>29098706I drive 100 miles for work everyday and would rather put those miles on a car i dont care about + there's constantly shit in the road that usually i can just drive over since i'm in an suv or i don't feel bad because i dont have a $500 spoiler / lip on this car that will get ruinedmy worksite has potholes and all sorts of shit and if it rains a decent amount, you WILL hydrolock your engine if you're in a small car. the rx350 is good for the kid to climb in and out of. with the ITS...there might be side skirts or other shit he might put his foot on and bend off or something idk, type r's had shit like that.a more sporty car would be fun but the only thing I would want is an ND with recaros or a GR86 but I have lumbar issues and I think the upright position on the ITS, the adjustable seat, and the normal sedan doors will make it tolerable.it's a compromised car but im living a compromised life tbqh.
