It was part of the property we bought last year. The previous family have lived here since the late 40's and did car and boat repairs. Everything is a time warp - most if not all the carpets, furniture, appliances, etc., etc., were 40 years old at the youngest, and the old lady who we bought it from just left everything for us to sort through. Most of the stuff in the garage hadn't been touched for decades.

Yup, the Disco is mine, the Scirocco my brother's, and the Minor my dad's. The Disco is currently in the final stages of reassembly following a complete top end refresh. Fingers crossed, it should be back on the road this week.

Hoo-boy is it! Thickest asbestos sheets I've ever seen, too, at roughly 3/4 of and inch thick. It seems stable so we're just letting sleeping dogs lie for now.

Mega comfy. Before this I had to work off a driveway, so just not having to worry about packing my tools up every night is extremely liberating. Never felt so damn lucky in my whole life.

This one has only needed a new throttle body, intake manifold and a tune up in the 10+ years I've had it. It's still on the original air springs even. If you have the room they're worth it IMO. Getting into the Town Car after driving the Tercel it's such a huge leap in comfort, noise insulation and just general solidity it's almost comical.

the last gen 929/sentia represents the (non rotary) peak of bubble era mazda design and thinking, I really love the styling and interior. Bought the 91 because i was looking for a 93, fell in love with the 91, then found a 93. Very mechanically fun to work on and also great to drive, build quality is incredible, etc. Completely unknown/underappreciated meaning completely affordable, fantastic and comfortable daily drivers.

Sucks they totally burn themselves out producing cars like the sentia/cosmo too late into the recession to pull themselves out without fords help. They couldve produced some seriously amazing vehicles if they didnt run out of money. Stuff we're starting to see them make now. Im a big fag for underappreciated art and effort, hence the SVX

Oh, hell yeah. We still have some asbestos brake shoe linings for our '50 Ford Pilot, and seeing the packaging proudly touting that they're made from asbestos is kinda funny with hindsight. Reminds me of the old cigarette commercials listing all the health benefits of smoking.

as for svx
there is a chepa svx relativelly near me with no motor and a 5mt swap
if its not rotten to death im contemplating buying it later and doing a ez30 swap since i assume th eg33 is unobtanium.
Brerra is pretty thing but it only has 1 good petrol motor and that is the 1750tbi
the 2,0 and 2,2 are pretty mediocre in brerra and 159 and the 3,2 v6 is utter dogshit(they switched from busso to GM based v6)
the diesels are good engines but who wants a diesel in a pretty car.
since i assume you are an american
164, 75 and GTV should be an option for you to buy.
