It's basically Skoda's Golf GTI (same platform, same engine). Where I live Skoda is slightly more popular brand than Volkswagen, but I still see more new (this and last gen) VW's GTIs than Octavias in RS version.

Something's wrong with this particular model? It seems cool as alternative for a hot hatch, for baby's first sports car.

Definitely not a sports car. It's a GTI for the man who needs a full size trunk/ estate for the family. Not really that fun, it does rip when you need it to but the EA888 is dull and the whole thing feels set up to be a steady DD.
Don't get me wrong it's a perfect do it all car and the power is good when you want it (and nobody expects it in my silver wagon), but it's not remotely interested in driving 'fun'.

Family doesn't mind stiff suspension? Or Octavia RS feels softer in comparison to Golf GTI or similar hothatch?

Octavia is tuned softer and has worse weight distribution due to the bigger ass. It still doesn't like bumps though and gets a bit rough. Family can walk if they don't like it.

this is probably the best car VAG makes its an RS3 but it looks like a kia so pakis wont steal your doors

Women drive crossovers. Men drive wagons.

Also Formentor VZ is Golf R, which means S3 not RS3.

You live in India?

VZ5 has the RS3 engine

It's ok with DCC

Why does VW need to dress up the Golf in so many different ways?
>>
>>29084882
Tempting choice for a DD personally, its a cheap runabout that can take parts off the GTI parts catalogue

pigfat gti
just get the cheaper lighter gti

Skoda is popular in India? I thought that 3rd world countries are dominated by Jap brands?

Btw I remember when I was in China around 2010. One local that I knew was soooooo proud of his Octavia. He told me that unlike Audi and VW, Skoda is actually premium because it's assembled from imported European parts, while Audi and VW are 100% Chinese.

they spend a gorillion dollars on developing the mqb
this shit cant die soon enough desu

Because Golf is foundation on which VAG exists.
>I want Golt GTI but not exactly
Cupra Leon VZ
>I want Golf GTI but sedan
Skoda Octavia RS
>I want Golf GTI but wagon
Skoda Octavia RS wagon
>I want Golf GTI but awd
Golf R
>I want Golf R but not exactly
Audi S3 hatchback
>I want Golf R but sedan
Audi S3
>I want Golf R wagon but not exactly
Cupra Leon VZ wagon
>I want Golf R but overclocked to the max
Audi RS3

ETC.

>Cupra Leon VZ
That one is weird, Leon Cupra has R engine, but is FWD only in hatchback form. Which I'd understand if it was so that the Leon had it's own niche and didn't cannibalize Golf R/S3 sales, but then the Cupra wagon is available with AWD, despite the fact that Golf R wagon also exists.
