They can still make an acceptable product while it, and the entire marketing around it can still be a scam.
Nothing feels scummier than finding those YT channels/sites/forum posters that will literally try and hide the fact that they're dealers, will market with "BEST SYNTHETIC OILS TESTED" then just hit you with the meme cold pour test with the smallest disclaimer finally admitting that they're a Scamsoil dealer.
Even worse when it's some car-specific forum and an oil thread starts, it always causes the dealers to reveal themselves and argue with anybody that dares to use an "inferior" oil (and don't forget to use their referral link when buying your Best Synthetic Oil™ for your shitbox!)

Most commercial vehicles are offer a 500k mi warranty or something similar to consumer customers, granted you get your oil changed at some shitshow shop. None of these shops are putting quality oil or filters on your shit and the people that do keep their trucks and vans that long almost never cash in on warranty failures. Yeah I work at a diesel shop and we have a fuck load of service trucks. Maybe a 6.7 has had a turbo or two, we have a couple 6.2s over 300k and a 6.7 cummins over 450k. Not a lot of problems out of the trucks. They put some brand of oil I've never even heard of it it and shitty carquest filters.
