Just got my first car and I am kind of scared at the prospect of driving it. It's a mk3 polo that has only done 30k miles and is in peak condition. Pistachio GLX with original seats. The guy who owned was a certified /o/utist who fucking loved the thing and has sent me messages making me promise I will look after it. The car is fantastic but that's why I am terrified driving it, not because I am shit driver but I have now become super cagey and protective other it.Everyother car I have driven I am perfectly confident in and most people who has had me drive them say I am really good with hazard awareness, but with a non-shitbox first I feel like there is an added pressure I have come across before. Am I overthinking shit? Just be extra cautious and I have nothing to worry about? Is it a feeling that goes way after a while?
>>29096907I inadvertently bought a minter for my first car. Within a few months of owning it I was getting offers for 3x what I paid for it.Felt worried every time I took it out frankly, so I bought something else that I didn't care much about and was fine from there on out.

>>29096907Nice. I actually had a mk3 polo, hand me down. Like 20-25 years ago. Good car. Mine was white though, kinda boring.>Is it a feeling that goes way after a while?yes.Am I overthinking shit?Yes. If you're gonna overthink, do it this way:A mass produced car, as nice as it might be, is just a car.A collection of parts designed and built by workers hired by a soulless corporation, to maximize profit.Individually, some of those employees might have been passionate about the project, sure. But the entire thing happened only because it was a profitable thing to do, for the corporation. The almighty corporation, that has existed for tens of years. You "owning" a car, means nothing from a macro perspective. You're one of 8 billion beings on a small rock floating in space, and a sub-group of beings called a government gave you a piece of paper (tree extract) that says you own that car. You, your car, and the corporation that made your car have existed for tens of years. The government that says you own that car has existed for hundreds of years. The entire species has existed for hundreds of thousands of years. The rock we're on has existed for billions of years. To summarize:In the blink of an eye, say 200 years (0.00000444% of the time the rock has existed) nobody on earth will know anything about you or your car's existence, or the fact that you owned it. Or wether you accidentally got a door ding or didn't. Or if you scratched the paint a bit that one time you accidentally used the same microfiber you had just used for the rims.Just enjoy your car.
kek its a fucking car, I aint reading all that anywayif it didnt want to be driven and bumped around (hint bumpers are called bumpers for a reason) it should have became a drawer or something
