Guy I know just bought a roadcrafter and won't stop talking about it. I was eyeing one but have to wait, gained thirty pounds in the process of quitting smoking cigarettes. Overall, I shouldn't have quit. Bet we're about to cure cancer anyway. Stupid decision.

>>29098387
Because it's easier to dab a light bike and not drop it than it is to dab a heavy bike and not drop it. I don't know what the other guys talking about wrt snow compaction, you shouldn't be riding on the snow, not sure why you would consider that. We have road salt and plows.

>>29098417
Very glad you didnt die, slow down king!

Lmfao first world country cant even keep its roads clear. Ohhhhh canadaaaaaa my home and retard laaaaaaaand

Been having a shit few days. Took bike to work because truck was showing codes, then bike wouldn't start after work. Left it on trickle charger at work, didn't do shit. Jump started it and rode it to folks house. Tried to jump it yesterday and it immediately died and lights started sputtering and an error code was flashing. Spent a sleepless night terrified I had fried my electronics somehow. Bought a new battery, electronics not fried apparently, finally got it home. So goes my days off from work. Still have a check engine light to deal with, probably just low voltage alert from failed jumpstart.

>cant even keep the roads clear
To be fair that year and the ones prior to it i had single digit weather and clear asf roads every time for days off and i was out riding
The day i took that pic we had snowfall for like 2 weeks most recent and basically nothing else the wntirety of winter; it was bizzaro
Edmonton sucks shit for snow removal regardless, always too little too late and they take fooooorever to sweep shit and it never fully is the whole summer in some adjacent places

Also you only get two driving seasons: winter and construction; enjoy suffering

I also have to learn how to degree one of these flywheels now. Supposedly you don't actually need the woodruff key and that's what gave me the inspiration for this.
>>
>>29098658
theres snow in the middle of the road and a completely snow covered alley in the background. he also says it gets to -40c, answering my question "does it get too cold to salt the road in canada" in the affirmative: road salt depresses the freezing point of water to -33c at absolute best.

>>29098658
Edmonton, the city he mentions, actually specifically abandoned years ago the only road salt, rarely used, capable of driving the melting point all the way down below -40C

Thanks for all the tips, anons, the discussion is very insightful. After reading several confused and retarded responses I feel it necessary to clarify these points:
>e-bikes are gay
>I want to be able to ride from 40mph in good weather to 5-10mph in a blizzard
>i'm very well prepared for cold
my questions are:
>Is this workable with a light bike and the right tires?
>What specific models should I look for on the used market?
The TW200 recommended in the previous thread looks great, I'll get it if I see one used. I'd prefer a 30 yr old japanese shitbike to a new chinese bike.

TW200, but any light dual-sporp will do. You don't want a lot of power in slippery conditions.
You planning on using commercial snow screws, or the #10-1/2 inch screws from the home improvement stores?

Sometimes I hear a motorcycle out my window really hauling ass, I live near a few major roads… but the sounds it’s making don’t seem to be related in any way to the normal operation of a motorcycle. Are these guys just cracking the throttle wide open with the clutch pinned? Bizarre

Check out my new luggage system. It's an olive barrel mounted to a metal rack I made out of an old vent hood.
The barrel is super steady and far enough back that it doesn't push up against my backpack.
And the tool roll has a perfect place to sit between the seat and the barrel.

+ a little cargo net over the barrel for shoving pieces of clothing into.

You have two hands, don't you? Just hold your phone in one hand and work the throttle with the other hand. You can learn while you ride. Eezy peezy.

We've had a blistering summer and now it's going to be an unusually wet and cold winter. Something about el nino, I don't know. The kids need to go away or something. The extreme weather swings here get old occasionally.

If the circumference is 360mm like a lot of bosch flywheels, your on easy street.

Make sure to use lapping compound on the crank taper and whack the flywheel on pretty good.

Okay, if they decide to start using salt again my only logical action is to dump my used motor oil all over my car and street to prevent my car from rusting.
