Yes and no, it'll definitely be different than a stock Miata, but not necessarily worse. A lot of it comes down to turbo choice, and if you get a good tuner to map it. Remember that bigger turbo and higher max horsepower isn't always the best choice compared to a smaller turbo and more consistent power delivery. Depending on what you plan to use it for anyway

I say yes. Miatas are supposed to be peppy, and the lag inherent in turbo systems would hurt that pep. Go with a supercharger if you absolutely need forced induction.

the B6/BP was designed with boost in mind but the miata was not. there's a reason the msm only put out ~150 at the wheels.

point #2 is the biggest one...look at all the cobbling/fabrication needed on a turbo miata. its a bit nuts.

i think a supercharger is a lot smarter and more unique, as long as you find a way to intercool it. something like a eaton mp62 or similar even if it makes less power will give better response and sound. i've seen supercharged na/nbs that sound like terminator cobras from how loud the supercharger whine is.

Turbo Miata are kinda lame.
The power is never available immediately and by the time you get boost it's time for another turn usually.
That's assuming the car can put down the power.
I've driven 400rwhp turbo builds that are basically unusable.

The 2.5L swap cars are way way better
200rwhp all motor
No extra bulky heavy shit like intercoolers and a turbo.
They'll hit 130mph at most tracks.

Get a small turbo, GT2860RS at most, and it won't ruin it. If you get a GT35 it'll turn it into a drag car.
