What's with the diesel truck Torque arms race?Is it just "Bigger number=more better" with normal fags?Do they really need 1,230lbft to drive around to work or tow a 3,000lb trailer?
>>29104052Why wouldn’t you want it? Big torque is nice
>>29104052Because Americans are retarded./thread
Think of Hotshotters, farmers, tow truck up fitters. That extreme level of torque is great for commercial use. And privately there are some boomers with serious "fuck you money" that relish in being able to tow whatever the hell they want. I knew a guy who bought some cheep bobcats off Facebook marketplace place and towed like 4 of them at the same time on a dual axle trailer. Was a 7.3 IDI. Got the job done but could have been a much more pleasurable experience with more torque.
>>29104064They must have been tiny. I can only fit two on my dual and it’s 30ft
>>29104052>What's with the diesel truck Torque arms race?It makes third-worlders seetheExample 1 >>29104063
>>29104052It's gender affirming care for insecure emasculated men. That's it.I've towed 30,000lb+ trailers with shopntrucks that were probably putting out half that without issue. Of course, that was at work with a company vehicle for a shitty blue collar job. Where this shit belongs.
>>29104052>>29104072why does the existence of this engine hurt your vagina so much
>>29104072all male interest are completely unnecessary and are just gender affirming care. you might as well not even be on this board and go to reddit.
>>29104052Good job diesel is so cheap and plentiful these days.
>>29104052Everyone likes “number go up” but the reason for the 8.3 is lower EGTs, lower cylinder pressure, and better NOx emissions (and therefore less strain on DPF/SCR).It should make for a very reliable motor, shame about the fact that it’s in a spyware laden, internet connected nu-truck.Also a shame diesel is $7.
>>29104076It's really nothing to do with the engine, and everything to do with the target audience.
>>29104086I wonder if they addressed the harmonic balancer problems that was on the l5ps
>>29104052Can they put it in a Ccorvette?
>>29104088so you were bullied by some kid who drove a truck and you can't let it go?
>>29104052
>>29104110except gas was more expensive under biden so this ai generated image is just lying.
>>29104059>>29104064I've towed 20,000 trailers with 1/2 tons all day at my cousin's dairy farm.1,250lbft is just overkill for no reason.>>29104091I believe the GM engineer said something about a revised Harmonic damper.
>>29104104t. 5' (not even 5' 1") manlet diesel dually driver
>>29104300good job signing your own post, newfag. no wonder you were bullied in high school.
>>29104310You are exposed, manlet.
If you actually haul heavy often it isnt so much the engine but the truck. A 2500/3500 isnt going to haul shit nearly as good as a 4500/5000 even if their "ratings" are lower. When you get into adverse situations and your trailer starts pushing you around you would wish you driving a lead slab instead of some little "truck"
>>29104142>I've towed 20,000 trailers with 1/2 tons all day at my cousin's dairy farm. Were you towing them up and over mountain ranges at 60+mph?
>>29104123
>>29104300I'm sorry you are a midget who doesn't know how t. works, newfaggot
>>29104341With a 6.0L 2500 with a BTR towing cam and headers, yes
>>29104052The only thing that anyone buying any of the new diesels should be worried about is reliability. We’ve had enough power since the mid 2000s, more has been done with less, think about the STOCK 12 valves, early 7.3s and the 6.5 GM diesels. The power numbers don’t mean shit if the high pressure fuel pump turns to glitter, the DPF plugs up, the intake gets clogged from EGR, miscellaneous bolts find their way into the intake (Cummins grid heater bolt) or the transmissions are bad from the get go (early 10L1000/10R140s). These trucks are ridiculously expensive yet people still tolerate these shortcomings. Give me something that is reliable and I’ll be excited.
Steamlet cope.
>>29104310>>29104406You have been exposed, manlet lifted truck driver.
