I have a 2006 Honda Odyssey. I love it and plan to keep it a while, but the road noise on the freeway is crazy loud. I've noticed it's way worse than some minivans of similar age like the Toyota Sienna. Did I just get a bad one? Can I do anything to reduce the noise? Where would be the most effective place to add sound dampening?
tires?
First post is right that tires make a massive difference. As to where to add sound deadening, you need to trace where the sound is coming from then go from there, every car is different. For example, Miatas usually benefit greatly from adding sound deadening in the trunk and door.
Pretty much always tires. Running too high of pressure greatly increases road noise so start there, use what it says in your door jam
>>29104912Tires as many other anons have said. Also make sure your window/door seals are in good shape. From there, see how easy it is to peel the carpet up and add Dynamat.
>>29104994>you need to trace where the sound is coming fromFirewall is #1Have fun with that because im not talking about floormats.
