The best parts about the FD are all despite its pretty problem prone engine not because of it. I take very good care of mine and am only the second owner so it has been trouble free, but I'm sure some day it'll blow a coolant seal or decide hot compression is so last year eventually. Then I'll rebuild it back to stock specs with an upgraded set of twins and it'll be ready for another 30 years of having fun.

You can refresh everything for like $2-3k:>center console>center console cover + shift boot>gauge hood>ac control cover>door pockets, switches, interior and exterior triangle garnishes>misc buttons>center console ashtray or money holderPretty much all of it is available new, parts are just expensive. But once you replace everything in the center console it’s all much more solid and nice feeling. For the door panels, the 1992 spec had reinforcement beams to reduce flex, so I recommend replicating that for a higher quality feel (door panels are not really interchangeable due to different mounting methods).
