My brand new car consistently gets hard water spots on its white paint. My old car never did this. Is this a sign of bad clear coat?

Some of the water spots can be wiped off while the others are not going away with nail scratching.

And when I wipe it with my nails shallow scratches appear.

Is my clear coat gone?

This reply right here is what happens when brownoids take over your board. I wouldn't give a shit too about my paint if I was a 5'4 mexican driving a 2003 honda.

yes because niggers are wildly known to not care about their swag and wear air jordans or some flashy shit to peacock around in.
kill yourself.

Use a water spot remover or a very mild polish and sealant like nu-finish and then wax or ceramic coat the car

it's only because that little mexicunt is too short to see the hood of his car.

I know how to deal with it but is this normal for a brand new car?

Yeah your brand new car doesn't have clear coat that is wet sanded and polished to a show car finish, it's just sprayed on and sent on its way. Under a microscope it's very rough and that's why it's so prone to spotting unless you wax it up real good.

Use a wax or other type of clear coat protectant that sits on the surface. Then any hard water spots will be easy to remove after one car wash and the application of either detailer (as you dry the car) or spray wax.

I keep my clear coat protected with Turtle Wax ICE but the brand had evolved to Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray Wax which is still turtle wax. I generally get away with dusting the car first and then applying detailer spray with a microfiber cloth to pull everything off. No hard water spots stay for long.

Ease of application AND removal means you'll use it more often. That means if you detail the car once per week, then durability is not a big factor since you're not going to insist that it keeps working one month later. It's why I still keep using Hybrid Solutions Spray Ceramic Wax as my "detailer". Of course, I can also wash the car and then spray it on as if I waxing, but it is liquid enough to be a detailer.
