Tired of breaking these piece of absolute fucking garbage jew screw shits. What torx sockets can I buy that will never ever break ever and instead break the bolt? If a torx bit breaks that's my financial burden but if the bolt breaks that's the customer's problem. I don't want to have to buy shitty replacement torx sockets anymore because the design is retarded.
>>
protip: if you put the hex on the outside of the bolt head it can be a larger diameter, which means that the coupling surfaces will have much more leverage over the bolt thread you're trying to break free.
>>

Torque Test Channel is your friend. Also there is no way to build these without them breaking at some point. Put your sights on a quality brand with a warranty.
>>
>expecting the larger shank of a bolt to break before the smaller shank of a torque socket
This is why I do my own auto work
>>
>>29108948
that's the point torx is fucking retarded and anyone that uses it is even more braindead retarded
>>
>>29108957
Don't work on cars if you can't into torx.

Nothing stopping (you) from doing this anon. You might have trouble finding cars with 0 torx though. I run into them all the time.

I need to buy some to install some studs. Thanks for the reminder.

I had to get a set because my car has like 8 etorx fasteners total
>>
>>29108969
my bro has a 2016 mini and that was when i learned that e-torx sockets have no standard for the angle of the part of the socket that touches the fastener (the sloped bit in >>29108972), so you can have one brand that'll fit over them very well, and another brand that'll round them off really easily because it sits over the same fastener but at an angle

t. never worked on a rusted out shitheap
Tell me o wise one what am I supposed to do when absolutely fucking this Ford transit hub bearing with oxyacetylene heat doesn't work and multiple T50s still snap trying to crack the T50 bolts loose because internal fasteners on big bolts is retarded bullshit only glue eating yuro engineers would think is okay? Oh and you also have to stick the socket through a hole inside the hub to reach the bolt from the front side so I had to pound the bit out of most of the sockets to insert it in a specific bit socket I had that fit in the tiny hole they gave you. They could have just put the bolt on the backside of the knuckle like everybody else, which would have also given them room to use a normal external hex bolt that wouldn't break sockets too. This is even more retarded because I only had to take the hub off to begin with because they used a dog shit captive rotor design that requires pulling the hub to change the rotors on a normal brake job. Fuck I hate Ford so fucking much why would anyone think this is okay?
>>
>>29108979
when I grabbed that pic there were plenty of results from gm parts sites
>>
>>29108982
I guess you're making the point here that American cars are shit too?
I'm not gunna disagree with that.
>>
>>29108937
>it's the products fault that I keep overtightening shit that strips out and breaks when I need to remove the bolts!
Stop.
Overtightening.
EVERYTHING.

>>29108980
in case anyone has trouble visualizing this, this is removing the T50 hub to knuckle bolts just to pull the hub so you can get the rotor off after
>>
>>29108989
>implying I'm ever the last dipshit to touch the bolt I'm now tasked with removing
Good one, it's usually the factory who installed it and then also corrosion and years of heat cycling that are the problem. On a customer's car it's rarely me who was the last one to touch whatever I have to do now, if you're trying to make overtightening what I'm working on now my fault.

>when he overtightens his shit the tool breaks instead of the bolt
EXTERNAL HEX CHADS WIN AGAIN
I will absolutely ANNIHILATE that bolt thread long before the socket slips or breaks.
>>
>>29108994
>EXTERNAL HEX CHADS WIN AGAIN
Ironically enough, it's Allen bolts that strip out the easiest compared to Torx-Plus
>>
>>29109002
Yes internal hex is also gay except for the very rare circumstances where it's needed, like counter-sunk bolts.
>>
>>29108990
comparing your torx bits to that one I can see the issue
gotta get you a bigger bit boi
>>
>>29109030
bigger bit doesn't fit in either the bolt or through the hole in the hub you have to stick it through >>29108990
>>
>>29108937
>>
>>29109031
idk what to tell you, that bit just looks beefier than yours
>>
>>29108990
Working on Fords? Sounds like mental illness not a tool issue. Its not the fasteners problem Ford is retarded. My second gen Cavalier was better designed and I am being sincere.
>>
>>29108940
make it out of tungsten carbide or some shit that's harder than steel then
>>
>>29109036
T50 is a T50 I don't know what to tell you then
>>29109037
I can't help what my customers were retarded enough to buy and I don't work for F*rd for a reason
>>
>>29109040
Difference in material? Hardened tool steel vs chinesium would probably help
Plus the T50 in your OP pic could clearly be beefed up some, the shaft is smaller than the head. I know that's probably not the exact one you're using, but still. Clearly not all T50s are made equal
>>
>>29109040
I thought you worked for Ford. That would fucking suck. Yeah Torx can be retarded when it gets old or shit design.
>>
>>29108990
You ideally want an impact screwdriver for these shits, regardless of whether they're torx, hex, or Phillips.

>Replaces broken metric bolt with SAE bolt
absolutely DIABOLICAL
>>
>>29109111
you can get metric hex bolts though
>>
>>29108937
>What torx sockets can I buy that will never ever break ever and instead break the bolt?
This was a problem 35 years ago when I was still working on shitboxes for a living which suggests there is no solution.

>>29109115
But that wouldn't be diabolical
>>
>>29109220
I was working on shitboxes and motorcycles 25 years ago and the solution to busted torx bits was the snap-on truck. The bits still break you just get a new one.
>>
>>29108937
You should be using a straight hex bit for a T30 or smaller.

t. works with torx for a living
>>
>>29109220
o rite. look to the bongs for diabolical. for a time in the early-mid 20th century they used metric threads with bong standard whitworth heads because they took over a hotchkiss factory and being baguettes, their tooling was all metric.
