I am trying to think of a refutation but it does seem to be the case 99% of the time
>>29110458You won't provoke me that easily.I’ve reached a state of Zen today, or something like that.
>>29110478Are you saying there is an implication that is worth provoking? I wouldn't have thought it would be that controversial
>>29110484ignore him he probably drives a miata lmao
>>29110458smol cars are cute and cute is gud
There's literally nothing a big block can do that can't be done with a far superior small block.
>>29110458
>>29110508>There's literally nothing a big block can do that can't be done with a far superior small block.Displacement, for one
>>29110458It all depends on the track
>>29110458if the power to weight ratio is the same, the lighter car is almost always the better one
It's raining.I have drifted 6-8 corners in the last hour.I have maybe 110 bhp.99% of the time you aren't in a race, it's about having fun. Power is fun too, but a different fun. You can enjoy all of the things, not just one thing.
>>29110458This makes me think you don't know what power to weight ratio means which is pretty crazy because it isn't a hard concept.
>>29110688the camaro proves that is almost never the case.
pick both man lol i want a big block rapist muscle car with good power to weight ratio
>>29110688What are you smoking?
>>29112379>>29111357Do you guys comprehend what power/weight means yes or no?
>>29112381Yes. It's a crutch fags parrot to cope with driving shitboxes or miatas
>>291124983000+ horsepower and one of the biggest blocks you'll ever see.
>>29112599Oh man, I bet that motherfucker is a beast in corners!
>>29110508Ok now make it bigger.
>>291125993,000+hp? Damn, that must absolutely smoke a miata in a race.
>>29112599And yet it's just over 100 litre displacement for that 3000bhp. That's not a counter to bigger is better, that's an example of just a shit engine all round.
>>29112755I've seen a few Cummins guys push their 6BTs to 2000 hp.
>>29112755Can an LS move 400 tons of earth?Didn't think so. Shit engine.
>>29112848Don't talk snack about the LS engine. Or else the gas babies will shit their pants and whine and cry. They can't comprehend that real trucks don't use sparkplugs
It is true V8 is better
>>29112920ThisThere is not a single car on the planet that would not be improved if it had a V8
>>29112921cars with 10 cylinders or more?
>>29112922Almost exclusively overstressed yuronipshit that would be faster and more reliable and better sounding with an LS
>>29112755That's the joke.
>>29112921>>29112930If you want to make a Chevy s10 fast then I guess an LS is fine. Still waiting for someone to LS swap a road train.
>>29110458i mean with a big block you get past a point where its heavier weight holds it back, after that its power to weight ratio just goes upthat's probably why the 426 hemi got banned from nascar or whatever.
>>29110458So besides Per Capita, Power to Weight ratio is also a foreign concept to Nissan Altima drivers. Interesting
Why can't I have a big block and a reasonably low car weight
>>29112943it'll have to be three bolted together.
>>29113039>https://youtu.be/YMEuy0G5n34
>>29112755>100 litreNo replacement for displacement!
>>29113029Cuz big block = big weight
>>29112599>if u haul ur groceries with anything less, can you really call urself a man?
>>29114427Just build it better, duh
>>29112498You don't understand what power/weight ratio is.
>>29110478The only people that have achieved zen are the lurkers
>>29110546Internal ResistanceA big block without any throttle will likely kill itself the moment it's in gear. A small block is less likely to do that. That's because everything is more, that includes the weight of the pistons, rods, and crank. A big block will always have more torque, but it will never have more power or respond like a small block.
>>29112599Guaranteed the Silverado out tows that piece of shit.
>>29112875I'm shitting and pissing my pants at this comment.
>>29118464Stop coping so hard, why does it upset you that a big engine is cool and powerful? like the viper 8L v10 for example
>>29118464>Internal ResistanceWhat are bearings?>A big block without any throttle will likely kill itself the moment it's in gear. A small block is less likely to do that. That's because everything is more, that includes the weight of the pistons, rods, and crank. You are now going full retard, the big block is the one with heavier internals, thus having more reciprocating mass and making stand still launches even easier. >A big block will always have more torque, but it will never have more power or respond like a small block.Name a single instance of this.
>>29118464>A big block without any throttle will likely kill itself the moment it's in gear. A small block is less likely to do that. That's because everything is more, that includes the weight of the pistons, rods, and crank. A big block will always have more torque, but it will never have more power or respond like a small block. The level of resistance experienced is not that severe relative to the force of other components, such as the cranks and pistons. The more contact area you have the more resistance, but that doesn't make 1mm of that space somehow wear more compared to 1mm of space on a smaller block. Everything is just in magnitude more including force that offsets resistance, but unlike a small block, tolerance is also increased in regards to how much wear can be ignored. Smaller blocks have smaller tolerances before serious damage can be inflicted during engine operation. A scuffed cylinder head needing to be skimmed or cylinder bores needing to be rebored is not that much of a problem with a big block because the thickness and scale of the block allows for tolerance, but a small block needing a rebore or head skimmed does not have that same leeway.
