The asphalt? Yeah, looks like a very nice road.
>>
faguar lol
>>
>>29113231
Nope. The silhouette is interesting, but the front and back have absolutely no character, and the design isn't consistent through the whole car.

Reminds me of the 2000s nissan gt-r concept, but stretched to 4 doors. I don't hate it.
I don't know why they keep making windows so mall and doors so tall though but I guess they must have good reasons
>>
>>29113231
Those wheels are 23 fucking inches in diameter.
>>
>>29113231
i hate the front end and i wish the trunk was more pronounced rather than doing the modern car thing, but i think they pulled off the ridiculous door to window ratio. it looks like the windows are being distorted due to the speed of the car which is cool. also still looks like a villain car except maybe a comic book villain not a bond villain

I really like it. It's a genuine old school jag for the 21st century. Supervillain looks, long bonnet with a low profile and stupid amounts of power.
>>
>>29113334
I know they want big dash/axle ratio, but thought they'd use that space for battery and put less in the floor. That way you can have a lower roofline than most EVs while still having cabin space.

>>29113329
>Double wishbones

>>
>>29113231
The front is hideous and would have looked better if the followed the design queues of the back rather than going for that weird faux-grille thing. It's an EV, it doesn't need a grille, and it certainly doesn't need the appearance of a grille.

The back I quite like though, and the overall shape and silhouette is quite cool.
They probably need to stop showing it in all these dumb ass colors though, people are just going to get it in black.
>>
Wot if ur car wuz Roblox
>>
>>29113231
it's very close to looking good, it's just some details that need work
like the angles on the sides of the headlights are ugly(and so are the big empty slabs underneath them)
or the way the side window line doesn't quite catch the roof line and the way the bottom of it comes up just a little in the rear for no reason in such an impotent undecided way
or the front badge that looks as if a badge was there but it fell off so someone wrote in the logo with a sharpie
if Jag survives until this gets a facelifted or a two door model I'm interested in what it will look like

I think it looks fine, better than the concept for sure. Maybe they had no choice due to the batteries in the floor, but I wish it was just a tad less monolithic. Looks sleek as fuck with a couple inches lopped of the body
>>
>>29113231
The absolute inundation of random off-brand chinese temu EVs hitting Australian shores that have aped this design language have really taken the wind out of this things' sails for me. They fucked around too long getting it to market. We already have cars that look kind of like this being used as family haulers by the masses and you can get them for like 400 a week on a novated lease. Hard to get hyped at all for the jag in light of that. Ofc I'm driving around in a 30 year old shitbox with actual decent visibility and pre-nanny state proportions so I'm not the target market anyways.
>>
>>29113380

>>
>>29113244

>>
>>29113386
Maybe 'design language' was the wrong way of putting it. I mean visually striking, but not necessarily attractive, monolithic, fuckhuge bloated rolling tech software demos designed to wow normies based on how many LED light bars and screens they can incorporate. A few of them produce a visceral wow factor when you pull up next to them in an MX5 and see the size of the brake calipers and the sheer size of them. I think that takes some of the sheen off this thing, especially considering how expensive it will be. I've seen a few with the same weird matte paint too.
>>
>>29113391
>not necessarily attractive, monolithic, fuckhuge bloated rolling tech software demos designed to wow normies based on how many LED light bars and screens they can incorporate.
This isn't really what the Type 1 is thoughbeit. It's only a bit longer than a 5 Series for example, but it's low and wide. Concept-wise it's more like the old personal luxury coupes of the 1950s

Overall proportions aren't bad aside from too long rear overhang but it's missing details everywhere, like a block of clay before they start styling it.

It has over 1000 hp, double wishies and great weight distribution due to cramming a bunch of cells up front to balance it. Even the ugly flat rear end is for aero reasons to get a bit of extra range. They've made it as a driver's electric GT, as far as that can be a thing. The interior looks cramped and corporate ugly, but so does everything nowadays.

My guess is thisll be the statement piece they'll get people talking about, then they'll follow it up with an SUV on the same platform that will be what they actually try to make money on.

You're not going to influence the buying decisions of millions of people. Hundreds of other products in other categories have gone to shit in the past decade and there's nothing you can do about it. >it's very close to looking good, it's just some details that need work

It doesn't look bad, but it also doesn't look like a Jaguar. That's what is sad about this vehicle. Since inception, Jaguar always produced beautiful vehicles. They've had some stinkers in the 2000s, but in general, almost all of their cars were genuinely beautiful and conveyed a sense of motion even when they were standing still. They also always had a feminine, feline quality to them. If a Rolls-Royce is a Lion, then a Jaguar is well, a Jaguar, the big cat from South America. It's sleek and aesthetically pleasing.

I don't hate how this new one looks, but it just doesn't pay any homage to the incredible legacy of Jaguar design. Even a Tesla Model 3 is more beautiful than this new Jag, and that's sad

>no rear window (literally why?)
>abysmal storage space despite being a gigantic car
>touch screen galore interior for a premium car
If they fixed these issues it would be an incredible vehicle.

>>29117778

Presentation wasn't great but it looks kino in all black. I'll consider picking one up in ten years when depreciation has done what it does to all jaguars.

Idk man, Jaguars have been lacking for a while now. I mean look at this thing - slap a kidney grille on and it's basically a BMW. It's bland and uninspired. Current Volvos are more interesting. The Type 01 feels like a Hail Mary from a dying car company, and while it may not carry any of the classic Jaguar DNA, you can't say it doesn't make a statement. They'll definitely stand out rolling down the street.

Should have been a 2-door coupe. Keep the size same and actually make it a statement, giant long hood and a short rear deck, classic proportions.
