Karts (that you actually own and go faster than 40mph) are the working man's road course racing. I really wouldn't give too much weight to the opinions of a prodigy groomed from a young age to be the best. Nothing else will make you a better driver faster. Nothing else feels like being 1" above the pavement on a little no-suspension toy rocketing through corners pulling enough Gs to potentially bruise your ribs.
