I used a tyre machine for the first time the other day. Getting the tyre off was a complete fucking ballache, but getting the new ones on was pretty easy. Still not as easy as fitting tyres to widow maker wheels, but oh well.
>>29117496>Getting the tyre off was a complete fucking ballache,You were doing something wrong... I have a rim clamp machine, but honestly 90% of the time I just bust the shit down outside with a slide hammer bead breaker and spoons because I don't want to sweep up afterwards. Kek.
>>29116341sheesh, you're not methin' around
>>29117490is that larger diameter tires than OEM?we all know they were a tall truck but certainly that's not factory
>>29117496Was the old tire rotted and hard as shit? That makes the job harder
>>29117596Theyre a couple sizes larger but the truck is a "highboy" or a highboy clone. You can see on this factory (appearing) highboy that the top of the tires line up at a different point in the fenderwell but the wheels line up the same with the bodywork (pretty obvious in the rear). It was a factory 2" lift because of driveshaft angles needed for a divorced transfer case.
>>29117622those are actually different bodies (bumpside 67-72 vs dentside 73-79)they had different frames with different wheelbase. the earlier trucks actually had different track widths front vs rear. i've heard the earlier trucks were taller
