About to record my first cassette for my car. Should I use dolby B? or should I leave it off? my car cassette player can only handle B while my deck can do B and C :(
>>29120177Yes dolby b makes the tape less noisy. C doesn't work as consistently with every deck and is more prone to tracking errors. Dolby B also doesn't count completely fucked up if you play it in a deck without noise reduction.
>>29120177This is bait for me specifically isn't it?Anyway! Only one of my cars has dolby, but the tape deck in that one is a little scuffed. Without dolby, you get a faint screeching, but with it, even if the tape is recorded with dolby, it sounds like ass. I just use the CD changer nowadays in that one.But these are tapes! Not CDs! Just record a song without dolby, then switch dolby on, record the same song again, and go play it in the car! When it's time to properly do mixtaping you just start from the beginning again!
>>29120177might have to try both and see what works best, sometimes its hard to find model specific info for auto units. could also make sense to open up the tape deck to make sure the rollers aren't sticky. Personally, I'm minidisc pilled so I don't have to deal with all that
What fuckin year is it
>>29120177idk I never had luck with dolby, always sounded worse than w/o it.
>>29120342>>29120434maybe it's the tape or the deck that I recorded on but yea it sounds like ass with dolby b on both in the deck that recorded it and in the car, sounds great with it off though basically like the source. Waiting on my HIGH QUALITY deck to come back from service and will try dolby on that.>>29120372the cd player doesn't work while the cassette deck does and I wanna keep the oem radio. Bluetooth radio things sound like absolute shit in comparison.
