If I pay cash for a vehicle at the dealership, how much can I get the price reduced if it's 25-35K?
even if you have the money, don't pay cash, just bring in a credit union interest rate and tell the dealership to beat it. use whatever interest rate is lower, put your cash into UPRO or TQQQ, and by the time you pay the car off you'll have made moneyalso dealers don't want cash deals, they want you to finance, so you'll probably get fuck all taken off for cash
>>29120432They'll probably raise the price if you tell them you're paying cash, car dealers don't work how boomers told you they did where a firm handshake and cash offer gets you a good deal. "Best" pricing is usually taking into account dealer financing and they hate cash customers.
>>29120449>>29120458then I'll shop around for one that will drop the price and tell the ones who won't to suck my dick.
>>29120469Other anons are right. You're not going to get the deal you want with cash. Those days are well and truly gone.
>>29120449>put your cash into UPRO or TQQQ, and by the time you pay the car off you'll have made moneyt. Just trust me bro
why do they offer 0% financing then? That's the same as cash basically.
>>29120480Because their primary job is to sell finance packages.
>>29120480Basically you have two options>Lend money to 10 people at a 1% interest rate>Lend money to 9 people at a 0% interest rate and 1 person who you know is gonna at 0% and then rising to 30% when they do.
Is it legal for them to refuse payment in cash? I know banks are legally required to accept cash for all services, but it seems silly that a dealership can offer loans like a bank can but not also be held accountable to this law.
I’ve bought 2 new cars with cash (check) and got no additional fees and they were nice about it. That was 15-20 years ago tho. Financing is how they get their money so they won’t give you a discount. If you pay with physical cash over $10k they have to report it to the IRS.You come off better if you play the finance jew game (if you don’t lose your job or lose money from a medical event) but paying with check is fine - just know you’re not getting a discount. In fact they often have discounts to finance to make you want to play their game.
>>29120480that's because it's the manufacturer's finance company offering the interest rate, plus a flat fee per contract. they do that typically instead of bonus cash/trade assist to get people to finance. then they sell your credit info, upsell you into wheel+tire and gap insurance, etc. like ram taking 10-15% off sticker as a national offer, but for interest rates
>>29120476find a 5 year/60mo rolling period where a 50/50 upro/tqqq portfolio lost money. if you think it'll be that bad, then don't do it
