>>29125969speaking as someone who owns 90s jdm, it's a nearly 20 year old car from a company with a bad reputation for reliability. the older any car gets, the more it takes to keep it on the road and source parts. to be fair to jaaaaaag, that reputation is largely misdirected, as their faults mainly do not prevent the car from running as opposed to their european counterparts. it seems to be because european car magazines have to pay tribute to german manufacturers so car-stopping issues contribute to reliability in the same way that infotainment issues do. but, it's still nearly 20 years old and parts will be an issue and shit will need to be replaced. i would suggest that if you buy one you get involved in the owners community and learn to do some of the fixing and sourcing yourself. i know a few people with old jlr cars, mostly land rovers, and all of them are mechanically handy people who fix and maintain their own shit. apparently if you can do that they're good vehicles, especiallly the land rovers, because they're comfy and fast and if you need to go off road or bad road they're basically unstoppable.so, something to keep in mind.

I can wrench and used to do almost everything on my cars but honestly I'm at this point in life where I'd rather have someone else do it so I can spend time with my family instead. My uncle met a retired Jag mechanic who stills works here and there and I'm trying to coax him into telling me he'll do it.
If you live in UK, go for it, fun cars, handles superbly, but outside of UK it could be hard to get parts.
