>>
>>29123019
>You will see the normal sub 1 second car for sure, but never any thruster
The sub 1 second was achieved via rear thrusters. The actual street legal car will be much slower, although probably still quite fast.
>>
>>29122955
There is no way this thing is legal in any way. 1 pebble on the street the car behind you is getting a fucking bullet shot at it. Do it on a dirt road and it's cutting everything behind it to pieces. Still absolutely insane demo.
>>
Whats crazy is no leaks whatsoever
>>
NERD here:

These wont be the boosters you will get if you buy it. These are space grade type shit for landing on moon and planets. Really cool stuff but the street legal version will probably be much weaker and have gay sensors that dont let you air booster launch if cars or people are too close behind you. It will probably still sound cool but wont look smoky. It will jist be air.

Either way it will be launching you under 2 seconds to 0-60 which is fucken bananas.
>>
>>29123032
3 versions, the 2nd tier with 1 sec is “limited release only.”
>>
>>29123038
You also have to consider weight. The rocket equation is extremely sensitive to mass. I guarantee this test car has its batteries stripped out to the point to where it probably took the entire charge just to do the demonstration.

The flying version will only be for Jay Leno type people. It will be only a handful made. Even regular rich people wont be able to buy it.

On the booster one that anyone rich can buy... I dont think the road safety law makers will allow the boosters to do a full power launch on streets that does 0-60 under 1 second. It will be track only.

It will probably be a weak street mode that launches way slower.

The booster tech is from apollo moon landing era. Its cool shit, but they have improved it alot since its been like 60 years. I am guessing the compression rates are way better now and therefore it can give a massive thrust even on a heavy vehicle. The flying version for sure is running on light batteries and large compressor machines to suck in and pack the air since it can self generate it.

Surprised the military hasn't added this to their vehicles. It would be very useful on battlefield.

From an engineering prospective yes it was very cool. But realistically this car will not be made and sold. It joins the endless pantheon of cool concept cars. The actual production car might look the same but ultimately just be another EV. It will be very very fast but we only have to look at the Rimac to see what the ceiling of EV performance production cars can be.

actual production vehicle I can see making deliveries by 2030, not a bad design for a Tesla spec supercar attempt. Best selling accessory will be a bumper sticker that says "my other roadster can fly"
>thrust
stripped down version of the base model with nitrogen tanks stuffed into the crevices for the gimmick, give it less than a month after delivery for some youtuber who bought it to figure out that driving the car with the tanks and plumbing removed is faster than with a full tank and the fart cloud blasting

entirely different platform, not a real car, but a purpose built novelty toy suitable for brief stunt shows and promotional exhibitions with pre-programmed tricks that the occupant gets to ride along for but not fully control. The McMurtry Spéirling uses a very similar downforce syste (4400 pounds or so, enough to park upside down) and it has a 0-60 of 1.4 seconds.

Add to that the four rear thrusters to an already fast car with limitless ocntrol of its downforce, and the under 1 second makes sense. Considering the same thrusters under the car can launch it 40 feet into the air, they are seriously powerful.

Car guys don't buy new cars and look for every excuse to not to do so. Even if a company made their perfect car, they would go "buying new cars is for suckers, I'll wait for some sucker to buy one in an excact spec I want, take care of it and baby it, eat the depreciation for me and sell it to me after 3 years". And the ones who put their money where their mouths are buy 100k cars like Corvettes and Porsches.
