I have a 95 hp manual hatchback and despite it objectively being a shitbox, for me it feels so much nicer than a 180 hp crossover
>>
it's fine for a daily that you drive just to get places and do things that need a car, same with fwd
>>
depends on the gearbox, the 8hp doesn't slow the car down at all, it's locked up most of the time

It's another retarded point of discussion autistic faggots who don't own a car piss and shit themselves about on mongolian basket weaving forums like this one.

>8hp
You still need competent engineers to fine tune it, something Rover/Jaguar can't into yet the UDM engineers have their shit locked-in.

>Is automatic gearbox the worst feature a car can have?

CVT is even worse
>>
>>29127836
Yeah, that's why BEVs are the best because they don't have any gears to worry about.
>>
>>29127836
My bike has almost the same horsepower without the bloat of a metal cage
>>
>>29127836
Its great for a daily car.
>>
Are automatic window the worst feature of a car? Real men use the hand crank
>>
>>29128239
Nope. I like having an open window on both sides and cranking the right window when I'm sitting on the left seat and driving would be a little too acrobatic
>>
>>29127836
Autos really are just the worst of both worlds.

If you want a convenient driving experience, just get an EV.
If you want a car for actually driving, get a manual.

No.

i like cars that can accommodate both and can accept some minor modification to get a hand crank working

You're god damn right we do.

Too right!

Especially helpful for traffic congestions as opposed to a manual transmission, although I honestly prefer the latter.

>Is automatic gearbox the worst feature a car can have?
Not even close. Subscription SaaS cars lock standard features behind a paywall.

The worst part? People grumble and get outraged by it, but they still buy the car. They're literally signalling to the manufacturer that they'll sit in the cuck chair while the manufacturer NTRs their wallet.
>>
>>29128451
Auto trans traffic cope, just leave a gap set it in 2nd gear.
>>
>>29128861
I get mad when people ride bumpers. Depends on the traffic but I either leave it in 1st or 2nd and let it creep. I have friends that also drive manual and they ride bumpers while saying "oh that start stop traffic is gonna ruin my clutch"... just keep some distance

Thank God British Leyland got Thatcher'd
>>
>>29127836
Yea automatics are gay as fuck but for a 95hp cuckbox why would you bother with a manual?
>>
>>29129282
Only way to wring out the power. Autogays will runaway to a higher and higher gear while the engine lugs until its in top gear and you can being the revs into the power band. I had a ztec focus that did that. You could only ever get it into come alive once it ran out of gears to upshift into.

I like being able to shift based on upcoming conditions instead of waiting for the car to react. I don't doubt modern autos are acceptable for commuters but on older cars where the alternative is a 4-speed slushbox, a manual will take a low powered economy car and make it pretty fun, or at least I think so.
>>
>>29130573
Dude stop trying to justify your autism.
You would always take a manual car, new or old, fast or slow, crossover or coupe.
If you prefer moving a stick around, it's your prerogative, stop trying to justify it like you believe in these justifications.
>>
>>29127860
Pretty much every automatic these days has a locked torque converter 90% of the time.
>>
>>29129282
Anything lower than 350hp is better as a manual, and anything over 350hp (and less than 5 tons) is fine as automatic
>>
>>29130596
Not sure what that means besides that they are all gay as fuck kek, faggot
>>
>>29130573
it definitely does
>t. manual swapped mine
>>
>>29130600
Locking the torque converter increases fuel efficiency.
Old 4 speeds only locked the converter in 4th gear at cruising speeds.
New 8 & 10 speeds can lock the converter in any gear after 1st.
That's why a lot of new automatic cars feel so slow.
No torque converter torque multiplication.
>>
>>29127836
Yes its why more power and bigger numbers doesn't make a car better.

>>29127865
No its a legit complaint, normies could have got manuals all these years but were too lazy to move their hand a bit.

>>29130597
After a certain amount an auto is way faster to change than any human could. If you like the feeling its ok but your 500 hp car might take 5.5 seconds to 60.
>>
>>29127836
Wow, a small light car performs better than a large heavy truck?
>>
>>29127836
No, auto stop/start is the worst "feature". Autotragics have their uses. I owned one and didn't care for it. All of my other rigs have been standards.
