I'm looking for a new car and it's seriously pissing me the fuck off how seemingly basic functions are locked behind a paywall/subscriptionAlso cars are just even more blatantly spying on you via that new camera the entire time (eufag here)Oh well. Guess I'll stick with my old polo
>>29127984My cutoff for bullshit has been bumped up to 2015ish as the hard line Thats about when the chassis of the mid 2000s were at their end of life and basically everyone was moving to new architecture. Thats also when a lot of this OTA connectivity bullshit and newest wave of safety nannies and disposability got introduced.
>>29127984But it doesn’t bother you to carry a spying smartphone in your pocket?Hypocrite

>>29129952In moments like these, we are all hypocrites...
>>29127984Baseddddd Polo anon. I have a 2014 one. It's 5* safety rated and reliable so I intend to drive it for another 20 years.
>>2912798470's cars. "Overpay" for an undesirable trim (4 door) of a common model (chevelle or similar) in excellent condition with a rebuilt motor/trans with about 5-20k on the pair. They're reliable. They keep up with traffic. Parts will always always always be avaliable. But you won't do that. You will walk onto the lot, and buy the most ill-suited car to your purpose, probably a black on black car in a very hot state
>>29127984I was looking to replace my Fusion with a Maverick and the thing that pissed me off the most is my base model zero options Fusion S has 4 one touch windows and power mirrors, yet the Maverick XL only has one touch on the driver window and manual mirrors. That's just bullshit. Surely it costs Ford MORE to have to manufacture and install manual windows than they could even save in parts. A motor is like 20 bucks. And the windows, surely that's just software. Or not necessarily "software" but whatever you call a regulator. I mean mechanically its the same motor.
>>29130026I doubt they're the same window motors. On my mav xl the driver window goes up and down faster than the other 3
>>29127996I think even as early as mid 2000s to 2015 like you said is still the sweet spot today. My parents got a 2008 Civic a few years ago and it runs perfectly, it will likely last decades more so why get newer.
