They've gotten better over the years, but I would still rather have a Toyota/Honda.
>>
>>29136160
Better than anything American or European as far as reliability/longevity, worse than anything Japanese in the same catagory. Though if Toyota keeps botching their turbo engines that might change.
>>
>>29136371
Toyota, yes. Honda, not anymore. Not with the head gasket issues going on with most of their models.
>>
>>29136441
This. Honda is probably bottom tier at this point, below even the Chinese no-name brands. The head gasket issue is so extreme, it should honestly be illegal to drive any Honda made in the past 10 years.
>>
They're the best economy cars. toyota, honda have switched entirely to hybridslop/turboslop/cvtslop
>>
Shit cheap nigga cars for section 8 families.

Folks who bloat on them here on /o/ are paid off Hyundai gook posters

Bottom of the barrel shit. Anything then a gook shit car.
>>
theyre just cheap boring cars, if you need a cheap boring car it may as well be korean
>>
>>29136441
im looking at a used civic, does the 2012 version have the gasket problem
>>
You wouldn't care to understand South Korea, but SK will never be able to produce anything of quality. Everything is precisely engineered to break as the planned interval. Never buy South Korea.
>>

I know right, the new iPhone Duo is so much better made than the Samsung Galaxy Fold.
Anyway, the Wife has a new Santa Fe, easily the best 7 seat suv at that price range, actually there really isn't competition.
>>
>>29136160
They ride like shit, might as well have the axles directly glued to your ass
>>
>>29136674
Except it looks like shit. Get a Sorento instead.
>>
>>29136679
I like the way it looks, and the Santa fe has a much bigger boot because of the boxy shape. I bought it a year ago anyway.
>>
>>29136657
Samsung shit works fine.
>>
My 04 Santa Fe has 304k km on the original drive train. My 2012 has 194k. Im selling the 04 though. I bought the 04 at 174k km. It is slow af but was fairly reliable.
>>
>>29136160
Pre 2010's ones, sure. Don't know about the newer ones.
>>
Their engines and transmissions are still shit, but they do excel at making decent interiors with nice tech features. I would buy a Kia/Hyundai over a GM if those were the only options.

They are still shit compared to Toyota, Mazda, Subaru, and some Nissans.
>>
>>29136637
2012 is probably fine, I think it's the 1.5 turbo and the current 2.0 engines that are -acking.

No. I've owned one and have worked on my gfs and others at work. They are acceptable as disposable appliance cars and are even comfy but don't expect them to last like a Toyota or Honda. I'd even argue in the long term they're worse than German cars regarding frequency of serious problems after 100,000 miles. They're not worth the money nowadays since they're priced like normal cars.

My Santa Cruz has over a billion miles on it because I accidentally drove it to Mars too many times. Best company ever.

You can buy a brand new 26 Sorento Hybrid EX for 35k, it won’t have the reliability issues that plagued the models of the late 2010s-early 2020s, get 33 mpg, captains seats in the second row, AWD, rear climate control, and you still get the 10/100 warranty. Thats the best deal you’re going to get on a family car unless you can shill out another 5k for the Telluride.
>>

Shut up gook

We know you gook from corporate
>>
I would gamble on a KIA would not step near a Hyundai though
>>
>>29137307
>Honda

The company that is sending most of their vehicles out of the factory with a head gasket problem? You don't have to like it, but Kia/Hyundai is better and more reliable in 2026.
>>
The N is top tier
>>
>>29137940
Hyundai and Kia has literally been shitting out exploding engines for decades now.
>>
>>29138671
Hyundai/Kia improved while Honda is STILL building most of their vehicles with unfixable head gasket problems. And I'm reading many Honda drivers are having to pay thousands of dollars in repairs, because Honda only extended the warranty to the head gasket itself not the other engine parts that get damaged when the engine blows.

I know this because I was extremely close to buying a Civic Hybrid as my next vehicle, until I did more research.
>>
>>29137443
>You can buy a brand new 26 Sorento Hybrid EX for 35k
This is your brain on KIA
>>
>>29136441
Hasn't Honda had issues for literal decades at this point? I always hear about their transmissions being a problem in 98-2006 accords, the vcm causing engine failure in their 8th gen v6s, excessive brake wear through the late 00s-early 10s.
It sucks because the used market is complete dogshit at the moment. If you want a 2012 accord with 100k miles or less it will be like 10k.
>>
>>29136160
> drive 30k miles/yr
> large city/highways
> big sample size of vehicles observed

4 out of 5 vehicles I see bellowing white smoke from tailpipe are Kia/Hyundai. Most appear to be well under 10 years old. Something tells me their engines are still shit.

3 out of 5 vehicles I see on flat bed tow trucks are BMW.

>>29136463
Anecdotally, I had a 2016 Civic 1.5T that went 165k miles with no engine or CVT issues.

I currently have a 23 Integra 1.5T 6mt with 80k miles, no engine or clutch issues so far. Plan on putting 175k-200k on it at this point. Love that little car btw. Can fit a shit ton of stuff in it, lift backs are beautiful creatures. Quick enough to not be boring, manual so race car, 37mpg average, lift back trunk area has lots of room & put seats down it has ludicrous amounts of space for a car that size.

Downside?
It’s cabin is loud on the highway & the stock tires are too thin to handle shit roads.
>>
>>29136160
They're okay lease queens but they're not built to last and they're not very tolerant of abuse. You could say the same for a new Honda or Toyota so you might as well pick whatever gives you the most vehicle for your monthly goy payment.

How does it feel to own a third world FWD lawnmower engine car? Imagine giving honda tens of thousands of $ for that piece of junk
>>
>>29139082
Niggers and Miggers are both scum.
>>
They're alright, but in the US the parts availability and prices are absurd, so not worth it.
It's kind of a ruse in that poors buy them because they are cheap but then when something goes wrong they have to spend C-Class money to fix it.
This is what negatively sets them apart from the more common jap models.
>>
>>29139085
>piece of junk
>Cars that get 150k trouble free miles and are fun to drive
Pick one

By the time I get rid of this Integra I would have put over 300k miles on two 1.5T Honda engines with no issues. Don’t believe everything you read.
>>
>>29139082
>that silhouette
No thanks
>>
>>29139082
They somehow made the Ioniq 6 uglier and uglier over the years. Why? It looked alright in 2023.
>>
>>29139453
I would personally kill myself if i had to drive 300k miles with a 1.5t engine.
You do you though
>>
>>29136160
I really like my Carnival, but I don't know how it compares against the competition because none of them are sold here. Even with the current diesel prices, I have no regrets.
>>
Anyone remember when the Hyundai Genesis coupe was the cheap RWD shitbox in town before the nu-86 came out?
And how anytime someone would post theirs we'd spam them with the phrase "penis window?"
Pepperidge Farm remembers.
Whatever happened to those things anyway?
>>
>>29137349
Omg did you die? How did you get the engine running in a vacuum?
>>
>>29136160
No, and they never will because there is no competition in South Korea to make better cars. The only way either company can make anything that isn't just the cheapest option is to break kia/hyundai into multiple companies owned by families who are hate each other
>>
>>29138934
Honda is the company people pretend Toyota is. Make the same car for 10-20 years and do nothing about it. Toyota to their credit tries to fix any problems along the lifetime of a model to make the best version of it, while Honda will just make the same exact mistakes and then put a note telling the customer that the fix is "known"
>>
>>29139082
Absolutely fucking disgusting.
>>
>>29140009
Any Pre-n hyundai sports/y car died in the crib because no one respected it (and because it was put out during the new muscle car wars+European sports cars)
