The Corsa and Astra both always make into our country's list of most beloved cars.
I myself have learned how to drive in a Kadett, what a car.

reminder that EVfags promised us that we will start getting fun cars like these from "boring" brands now that everything is on a skateboard chassis but all we get is just crossovers.
I do like the current design language thing they have going with the fronts.

I remember these things being everywhere in 2000s and then just vanish overnight.

Did Opel do a version of the HB Viva/Epic/Torana?
Thanks.
>>
>>29138636
Holden is just an opel but with an actually good engine though.
>>
>>29138690
The opel version of the torana was the kadett.

The opel commodore B is what the Monaro should have been instead of the HQ-HZ

the untrained eye could mistake this for an A9X torana

Neighbour had these both on his yard, except the coupe was a Commodore with the 2.8 litre CIH straight 6 and a 5 speed manual, triple sidedraft webers feeding it.
Fucking faggot sold them for scrap for 120 bucks, I offered him 2 grand for the commie right on the spot, then another grand for the wagon Rekord 1700.
I then offered him 3 grand cash just for the commie, but he hit me with the "I already got the scrap title for them, they're coming to haul them off today"
>>
>>29138700
That's a Holden Gemini not a Torana

Those Kadetts were a generation newer. HB was released about 1967. Kadett was released in 1973.

The interesting part is that some of these skateboard crossovers are actually fun to drive, low center of gravity makes them handle more like cars rather than SUVs
Lots of people are begging manufacturers to make low-slung cars on the same platforms but manufacturers are forced to chase extreme profit margins to not get swept away by CCP's infinite money, so everything has to be standardized and appeal to everyone at once

So cheap
So practical
Compellingly tempting....

desu the current mokka is probably one of the few crossovers that look at least decent, like some thought was put into the proportions and shape of the car, rather than just more eggshit
>>
>>29138939
Yes that's why they also engineered the HiPer strut for the Insignia OPC, it adds an upper ball joint so the strut is no longer also the steering axis for a more vertical kingpin angle and reduced scrub radius which helps reduce torque steer. Honda uses a similar design on the Type R.

my uncle had an Opel Manta GTE in the early 90s, there's pictures of him and me as a kid in the car. I always thought that it was ugly as sin.

>>29138733
>>29138700
but the Kadett used to be a pretty car, shame they never actually made the EV one that was styled after the classics
>>
>>29139709
They did, but it became the current gen mokka or crossland or whatever. Basically they turned it into a crossover.

The Kadett EV was an interesting concept because it had a 5 speed manual to extend the range of the single electric motor, instead of just a regular setup of an EV motor driving the wheels straight.
