Considering how popular they are for oils, why is their coolant so slept on?
>>29139506Because they aren't known for their coolant.
Most people just grab coolant off the shelf, whatever is cheapest and meets their car spec. Others just only look for things like castrol or shell coolant because they're autistic, and if they are using castrol oil they now want castrol everything. I personally do this with Pakelo, paying a hefty premium just to have as much Pakelo as I can, for diff, transmission, engine, coolant, brake, grease...
>>29139506Don't know about coolants, but Castrol Dot-4 is supposedly very good.
>>29139506My car is 11 years old and I've never once changed the coolant.
>>29139506>why is their coolant so slept on?Because coolant isn't as essential to function. In an emergency you can quite literally use piss and vinegar as coolant.
>>29139506They just rebrand coolant so it's not worth paying the Shell premium.
>>29139506Bought Castrol coolant before on special, but there doesn't seem any advantage in using it. I do use Castrol's coolant test strips though.
I only use OEM fluids like Scotty recommends
