I tend to relisten to one album for a whole season and it starts to define my rides
Earlier in the summer I was listening to a whole bunch of Wavves and was particularly enjoying the demos of King of the Beach with Zach Hill
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpewKpQcg8M
Had a very hooligan feel, made me wanna do wheelies and speed through all my favorite twisties. Really helped the heat fall right off my body
Now that fall is settling in I'm starting to switch over to some of my slower more melancholy music like Volcanic Bird Enemy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1FoI0YC554
Find myself lifting my visor enjoying the cool chill of the weather listening to this, enjoying the feeling of the ride more than anything else
Both of these are relistens so hopefully I'll find something new this year that can still accentuate my days without feeling like I'm just reliving the same year every year. That new Denzel Curry album is nice.

went to a BMW demo day this weekend.
unbelievable that they just let any retard take these things out. i ended up trying an R1300GS, R12 GS, and S1000RR. they had an official route planned out but it was all very laid back. if a bike was available, you ask for the keys and you had to be back in 20 minutes. i dunno if this is typical or not for demos.

1300GS was an automatic. no clutch lever at all. i pulled up to a stop sign and it literally downshifted for me. super comfy though, like driving a boat. very smooth through turns and rolling on and off the throttle. relaxing.

the s1k is nuts. i've never been on a sport bike. you just barely give it some go and you're already doing 100. the sound is incredible. the ergonomics were alien at first but once you're moving it's like riding on a missile. really cool.

the r12, i dunno. nothing particularly wrong with it, just not very "inspiring" by comparison. not sure if it was the ride mode or what but the throttle response was really choppy at slower speeds. aesthetically sick though.

also, they also had a chili cookoff, which was nice for a cool fall evening. all in all, good day.
>>
I've been eyeballing triumphs because they look cool, but I just can't get over with how the engines look.
I know that stand up cylinder is almost like a trademark of theirs, but I just don't fuck with
>>
>81 C70 front wheel is slanted
Well fuck, and right after I just got my license. I cant figure out exactly when this may have happened, as I haven't felt any issues when riding. I feel like if anything caused this it was a pot hold, especially with the frustratingly soft front suspension. More to fix and learn.
>>
>>29140267
sounds like fun. I'm kinda scared of riding a s1000rr because I fear I will have to immediately buy one
>>
>>29140142
Why are you pretending to be retarded? Nobody is claiming you need 200, you simply need to be able to instantly accelerate to +20 or more than the slow vehicle. Imagine having a bike that is less capable than a slow car car of doing so, I sure don't want that. Much less so when there is only 1 lane in each direction on the road.

Avoid 650s if you're not comfortable with pulling the engine apart.
Newer 750 OHV bikes especially from 07 upwards are genuinely good bikes, but they are also quite expensive as that's the point where they stopped being mass production machines for the people and became fancy boutique bikes for Americans.
750 sidevalves are really sturdy bikes too, but the 6 volt electrics aren't forgiving, you need to be on top of things or you'll end up on top of a trailer when you run out of spark juice.

This is only regarding IMZ Urals and KMZ K750s, KMZ Dneprs are a different can of worms

What really helps during winter is wind protection, because that's what fucks you up. Either proper gloves that don't blow through or wind guards/hand guards/bark busters/whatever they're called.

This, was first on scene to a bad crash years ago, guy ended up in a bush with a fracture below the knee apperantly, first I see is him emerging from the bush, stand up straight infront of me and instantly his fractured leg, compounded (bone through skin). It looked like his leg just went short and fell over, jeans hid most of the gore.
Paramedics told us if he had stayed in the bush, not try to stand up that it wouldn't have compounded.

It's hard to tell what feature even sent you flying but I suspect your suspension was not up for the task at that speed. I had a short suspension adventure bike when I first started riding dirt and went to a proper dual sport with premium suspension before long. I knew there'd be a difference but I never would have guessed how big of one

The Yamaha "scooter" is by far the most interesting release today. Would seriously consider it if it was a manual.

Harley sprint is a CUTE
I know europeons and others are used to paying taxes based on displacement in a big way so every cc has to extract maximum power, but there’s no replacement for displacement, cute little thumper is welcome in my book. If my boys were teenagers already this would be first in line for their first real motorcycle.
>>

>europeons and others are used to paying taxes based on displacement in a big way
I don't, motorcycles are completely exempt from road tax in Finland.
No doubt the eu niggers will try to fuck it up and force yearly road taxes for bikes here too, just like with inspections.

228kg is not that much considering it's a fully loaded machine. Shitlings with 1/3 of an engine, worse smaller suspension and no technology weigh 200kg at this point.

The AT was already too heavy, is the problem. Also comparing it to chinkshit is a bit disingenuous

I don't think the 45° would affect it with such low displacement.

Better than what a lot of people wear. There is an inverse sliding scale of "looks cool" and "good protection", that's a solid enough middle ground.

That does not provide ankle protection beyond bruise control and brandname appeal

>That does not provide ankle protection beyond bruise control
Ah okay thats what I was wondering, I wasnt sure if having the ankle covered was considered as enough "ankle protection". I'll still keep these around for everyday wear, I'm not doing anything crazy at the moment, but that's good to know for when I get more serious.
>>29141849

>>
Since you are talking about it, any recommendation for boots with EU protection rating?
>>
>>29141853
Ankle protection means you reduce the risk of torsion and sprangs
Reduce, not eliminate, nobody is saving your foot from a 80mph side swipe from some semi truck you tried lane splitting into the oncoming lane

I really want to get medical grade kneebraces, once you have ankel protection its the next joint up to be fucked
These PPE are your last line of defense, not the first, but those airbags and stuff turn into life saving mechanisms above all other protecting gear, you can walk away from a crash with one that would normally leave you crippled

All look like track boots although they give them names like touring etc. I need to ride into my office, as well as buy groceries, as well as ride in summer. All I checked had a water membrane which reduces air circulation to minimum and would cook my feet while claiming occasional waterproof (lie btw, they always leak after some time)
Maybe I'm wrong but that's not what I'd buy. I have local branded Vanucci which I also hate...

Hi /dinkbots/, after 20 bikes I've finally bought a H-D, and it has completely changed my perspective of motorbikes. It's the first bike I actually enjoy riding for the sake of riding, something I've only realised in retrospect. It's also the first bike I've ever enjoyed riding slowly, and the first bike I bought without researching "specs" and reviews. I just thought it looked cool.

Too slow for modern traffic unless you live somewhere really really quiet.
Even the new trail 125s will only do 55, but you can cruise at 45.

If you want something kinda comfy, I know its a real motorcycle but look into a tw200 or vanvan. You need more displacement
