I'm putting 1k/month in short term savings and I have 20k saved up. I expect some expenses to draw out of this account but all in all I will be able to purchase my dream car in ~3 years as long as nothing crazy happens. However, I've been thinking about buying an 08-16 r6 for track riding, with some street riding on the side. This will eat up at least 10k from my short term savings account, which will set me back around 1 year in terms of purchasing a car. Potentially 2 years, considering additional continued expenses.Wat dou?
>>29140565investing in cars early on will make you broke forever. what is this “dream car”?Bikes are much more affordable fun, but you’ll also probably get run over by a jeet truck driver or a woman in an suv.
if you already have a car that you can reasonably expect to last for longer than 3 years, go for it, sounds funotherwise prioritize the car first
>>29140565Buy cb750 for 500 dolla and go as long as you can stacking fat bread>nu-slop bug bike with expensive gimmick tech that will break and rape youNgmi
>>29140565I think driving a car thats worth more than what you make in 2 or 3 months is kinda stupid.
>>29140585KEK so no car for me
>>29140565for 90% of commuting a motorcycle is fine, just get some panniersinb4 groceries or sheets of plywood or whatever, it's 2008 already, just have that shit delivered
>>29140565If you don't have a daily driver and need one get one of those before getting a bike. If not, a bike is a lot more fun than a car for the money. Probably more fun period. I've never enjoyed driving cars as much as I have enjoyed riding. Ofc bikes are inherently risky. If you don't have health insurance or work a job that requires you to be physically able or whatever those are things to consider if you eat shit on the track and can't work/have medical bills to pay. I've never had a crash but it's always on my mind. If it's a track bike ideally you'd want something to transport it to the track with also. Imo 10k is a lot to drop on a first bike. I'm an experienced rider and I've never spent more than 7k USD on a bike and I've owned some serious bikes. I'd start off with something way cheaper to see if you actually enjoy riding. You can figure that out on a 250.
Even spending 7K USD on a first bike is a tall order when Marketplace has bikes for $2K at almost any engine power you would want.

>>29140565An r6 is a terrible first bike and track is much more expensive than you realize.
