Unless I'm planning on gutting an animal, why would I need more knife than this?
>>2869760Real pros take 2, in case you lose one.
>>2869760>needyou don't need it, only a retard would say you "need" itbut do you -want- it? do you want a mini saw blade, scissors, bottle / can opener, an awl, tweezers, etc?if you want that but don't wanna carry a box will all that in it, then yeah, you use thatthis is something that was learned back in the roman times, its not something to argue with, it simply -is-
A full tang knife can be used for battoning, if you're into that kind of thing. Is a Huntsman better than a Leatherman Wave?
>>2869782No clue, I only have the Huntsman, but I like it.
>>2869782Leatherman wave is absolutely a more versatile and robust tool but it's also twice as heavy and expensivePliers are nice, locking blade is nice. But for the same cash you can get a pair of aluminum fishing pliers to go with your huntsman.I'm more of a rebar nigga anyways
>>2869791I have a Wave but it's too bulky to be an EDC for me. I'll definitely pick up a Huntsman, they look like they'll fit on to my keychain and fit in my pocket nice.
>>2869760>Be Swiss Army.>Always stay neutral.>Wars? lol No, we'll just watch.>Invent a basic multi-tool.>Make it red, very tactical lolz.>Call it Swiss Army Knife haha.>Army gets it for free, everyone else pays.>Sit back and enjoy.>People start buying it.>WTF, really?>Add more random tools for a laugh.>People go crazy for it.>WTF seriously?!>Add a coat hook.>Money goes brrrr.>Stare in disbelief.>Add a small useless scissor.>Stocks go through the roof.>No way are people like this...>Go full retard, add a plastic toothpick.>LMAO Money goes brrrrrr.>World goes insane.>Jeremiah Jhonson turns over in his grave.True story.
>>2869760I remember when my dad needed to cut some cord and the scissors he got couldn't cut through it cleanly. I pulled out my SAK and he laughed, saying the small scissors wouldn't be any better, and cut through it like butter.
>>2869797Funny enough, the main blade, the tiny scissors, and the toothpick are the only pieces of mine that I've used.
>>2869842do you kiss your dad on the mouth?
>>2869859No. My dad is one of those typical "feelings is weakness unless it's anger and rage" kind of guys.
>>2869797>>2869845Yeah the scissors are one of the nicest parts.
>>2869760Most of the things on these things is gimmicky bullshit you will absolutely never use
>>2869845I've used the saw on occasion, and the corkscrew I used for unintended purposes that it just seemed intuitive for until it broke (chinesium brittle steel)
>>2869760>needFor the price of a Victorinox ("Swiss Army" kniife) 33 piece multi tool you can get....>not even kiddingAll this shitFolders, skinners, tooth picks, a set of kitchen knives, some throwers (well shit, didnt "need" those but now I have 'em) God damn samurai swords and even a fucking Bowie thats bigger than a roman short sword.
>>2869918The huntsman costs 36 dollars.
>>2869918The 33 functions victorinox is like 100 dollars. You can get 2 relatively nice knives for that money, but if you want to have all this shit for 100 you are gonna the cheapest low quality garbage there is
I have a climber that's in my pocket 99% of the time it's pretty cool. If you're only doing light trips a victorinox is fine
>>2869959For all those times you need an awl at the summit?
>>2869960>awlI looked online and there seems to be nerds coming up with all sorts of shit to do with the hook and the reamer, but I don't use em. The rest of the stuff comes in useful pretty frequently. No clue why they called it 'climber', should be called 'IT desk job' or 'amazon package opener'.
I'll stick with my compact. Until they put scisors and a pen on a ranger grip, the compact has the most versatile tool set imo.
>>2869961I'm not against victorinox. The small one is probably really great if you travel and want to cut your fingernails. But the point of was trying to make is you don't need two separate bottle opening solutions in the back woods when stabbing it with a knife works.
