Why don't people on reality shows know how to strike a ferro rod? I figured it out at age 10 with no instructions. You use edge trailing, full contact strokes at a 45 degree angle to throw a shower of sparks. You don't smack the edge of the knife / striker on it at only one contact point.You'd figure they would watch a youtube video or even pick one up for $2.99 at the hardware store and practice before going on tv.Survivor has been on for 50 seasons and they still don't know.
