I wasn't ready for them last summer, I realize that. Now I'm ready.
>>2872661Cute feet
>>2872661Ready to stub every toe??
>>2872661rock scrambling in sandals is retarded. enjoy your busted body.
>>2872733Lol this. I was mad as hell doing a surprise downhill scree scramble last weekend in my altras. I'd have worn boots if I would have known I was going to be kicking giant rocks for 2 miles.
>>2872661I hope you pay out of the ass for the rescue.
>>2872661Nonsense! I’ve been using Tuva sandals for more than two decades on long hikes, approaches and low level scrambling. Some of the things I’ve done; *Backpacked the Muir Trail in the Sierra. *Been on countless hikes and backpacking trips. *Scrambled up the Death Slabs in Yosemite. Hiked down Half Dome back to the car. 3 times. *Miles of bushwhacking to obscure crags.*Climbed 5.7 “slab”*Weed wack at least an acre of land around the house, every year. *Summited Mt Whitney, Sill, Tritons, Shasta, and countless others of similarity. *Hunt every year. (Deer). The things I would use extra caution on are on fields of small talus, hiking through White Thorn or similar low lying brush, moving heavy rocks while trail building or other heavy work (or similar work) or racing, (like Adventure Races where you are moving quickly off trail). In 20 something years I have only ever experienced a few pokes from thorns, scratched ankles or minor abrasions to the side of the foot. Nothing major. Competency outdoors may vary your results.
>>2872744***Teva sandals***
>>2872744You overestimate most people's ability to hike. I also own a pair of tevas and gone on really long treks with some rock scrambling mixed in and for those like me and you it seems easy and we assume most people can also handle it, but its not the case. Ive taken quite a few people out hiking in the past, thinking they were fit enough to hike the kind of trails i trek and 90% of the time im surprised by disappointment, most people cant hang. Which is exactly why there are so many naysayers in this thread, they could only ever hike in $200 'hiking certified' boots, and likely wont go past 5 miles
>>2872776You’re probably right. I’ve known a lot of very fit “outdoorsmen” who in my opinion are completely incompetent outdoors. Can’t tell you the number of times people have given me a look of utter disbelief when they realize I didn’t bring a tent, a stove or a water purifier.
