I wasn't ready for them last summer, I realize that. Now I'm ready.

Cute feet

Ready to stub every toe??
>>
>>2872661
rock scrambling in sandals is retarded. enjoy your busted body.
>>
>>2872733
Lol this. I was mad as hell doing a surprise downhill scree scramble last weekend in my altras. I'd have worn boots if I would have known I was going to be kicking giant rocks for 2 miles.
>>
>>2872661
I hope you pay out of the ass for the rescue.

Nonsense! I’ve been using Tuva sandals for more than two decades on long hikes, approaches and low level scrambling.

Some of the things I’ve done;
*Backpacked the Muir Trail in the Sierra.
*Been on countless hikes and backpacking trips.
*Scrambled up the Death Slabs in Yosemite. Hiked down Half Dome back to the car. 3 times.
*Miles of bushwhacking to obscure crags.
*Climbed 5.7 “slab”
*Weed wack at least an acre of land around the house, every year.
*Summited Mt Whitney, Sill, Tritons, Shasta, and countless others of similarity.
*Hunt every year. (Deer).

The things I would use extra caution on are on fields of small talus, hiking through White Thorn or similar low lying brush, moving heavy rocks while trail building or other heavy work (or similar work) or racing, (like Adventure Races where you are moving quickly off trail).
In 20 something years I have only ever experienced a few pokes from thorns, scratched ankles or minor abrasions to the side of the foot. Nothing major.
Competency outdoors may vary your results.

***Teva sandals***
>>
>>2872744
You overestimate most people's ability to hike. I also own a pair of tevas and gone on really long treks with some rock scrambling mixed in and for those like me and you it seems easy and we assume most people can also handle it, but its not the case. Ive taken quite a few people out hiking in the past, thinking they were fit enough to hike the kind of trails i trek and 90% of the time im surprised by disappointment, most people cant hang. Which is exactly why there are so many naysayers in this thread, they could only ever hike in $200 'hiking certified' boots, and likely wont go past 5 miles

You’re probably right. I’ve known a lot of very fit “outdoorsmen” who in my opinion are completely incompetent outdoors. Can’t tell you the number of times people have given me a look of utter disbelief when they realize I didn’t bring a tent, a stove or a water purifier.

I tried the bedrocks. Did about a mile and a half in mud and rocks with them. The thong is weird. It kept digging in, and it was the only way to keep them tight.
>>
Can someone let me know if these are any better than teva or chaco sandals? Looking for something that can go long miles
>>
>>2873065
If you aren't summiting Rainier in flipflops you are a weak little bitch boy
>>
>>2873065
Tevas are better.
>>
>>2872661
Where are the socks?
>>
>>2873106
Which tevas specifically tho? The ones for hiking seem to have mixed reviews
>>
>>2873126
Should i actually get toe socks for these?? Swag or fag
>>
>>2873126
No socks. Barefoot is more badass. Plus, easier to clean bare feet than socks when they get dirty.

>>2872732
>>2872733
Skill issue.

>>2873052
In mud I would just remove the sandals and go fully barefoot.
>>
>>2873249
the mud did that for me :/
>>
>>2873252
I rest my case.
>>
>>2873127
The Terra Fi 5 sandals.

The thinner ones are too thin and the beefier ones cause too much chafing and rub points on long hikes.
>>
>>2873350
>Terra Fi 5
Had these for about 3 years. Didn't even do many hikes in them, because they're weirdly narrow at the front, have massive heel drops and are thus quite uncomfortable in the midfoot. The occasional wear they get day-to-day during summer and like a few casual hikes wore massive holes into the sole. I'm going back to Luna
>>
>>2872661
Teva's used to be better. I dislike the soft bottom ones, and I don't see that they make any hard ones anymore.
>>
>>2872744
>pokes from thorns, scratched ankles or minor abrasions
all completely avoidable.
>I havent lacerated my foot too badly yet so its cool.
>>
>>2872744
I keep getting friction blisters on the pad behind my big and second toes, any idea why? This shit doesn't work for me.
>>
>>2872661
Lmao, this ain’t grass, boyo. Enjoy scrambling in you lady shoes, fag.
