But if you want to larp a little - get a swiss army knife to carry with you, a bottle of water, maybe add some electrolythes if you wanna be fancy, a flashlight if it's nearing the evening and once you have that - leave phone at home if it distracts you. Music isn't worth it if that's the case. Me personally, I like thinking out loud when walking, but if you need bgm - consider buying a cheap mp3 player.

I've found that the more I learn about plants, mushrooms, insects, birds ect the more I appreciate them. There's something enriching about stopping to look at a mushroom and being able to identify it. Try getting a few locale-specific field guides and identifying cool stuff you see out there.

learn more about what's going on outside around you (types of clouds/plants/bugs/animals/etc.) it is cool when you see a bug and you're able to say oh i know that guy!!!
