what are the coldest mountains to hike in west virginia in july?
ice mountain preservedolly sods is sorta legendary for almost always having a cold wind atop itgenerally the stuff near cranberry country is popular/high elevation high rocks off 150 is a good easy hike that's high up enough to not be super hotthere's also a view of the cranberry swamp off 39 sorta to the sw of high rocks, closer to richwoodseneca creek is a popular hike, multiple creek crossings to a waterfall you can swim in and camp next to tea creek backcountry has some nice hikesI thought the trail along middle fork williams river was in good shape, I'm not sure if that's outright in or just near cranberry wildernesselk river has multiple swimming holes that are clean and warmaudra state park you can swim at
oh and there's always...cold knob, but dare you get there? there's only one legal road from richwood, and I think technically even stopping and getting out of your car is illegal cuz its like the border of the mon forest and weyerhauser timber lands but even the forest land is leased to the timber company anyways, something like that, but as I recall, I didn't see any no trespassing signs but don't try going up the atv road just park right at the little loop and then walk up the atv trail to a nice view, i haven't walked around the whole loop maybe there's more views
