>NEVER SWIM ALONEThis advice is commonly parroted as part of water safety training, I myself have repeated it robotically as a lifeguard and aquatics instructor back in the day. But as an adult I routinely open swim alone all year round, sometimes in pretty rough surf. I have a healthy respect for the power of water and the elements and know when to bail. But everyone who hears that I swim solo immediately admonishes me for being reckless and selfish. Is it really that nuts? Do any of you swim alone as well. Cold exposure tolerance, physical fitness and biofeedback are all super important skills to develop for all outdoors related activities and i feel that solo swims in nature put this at the forefront
>>2874482Sounds like a bunch of oversocialized pansies to me. Sure the risk is greater but so what? It's acceptable to you - that's why you do it, no other justification is needed.
>>2874482I've never even heard this advice. Everyone swims alone in Aus.You American?
I cave dive alone.
That's just to mitigate liability because in America you cannot trust the lowest common denominator to survive on their own and their fat nig family will sue, which will lead to bad optics and critical jewish press. It's also propaganda to instill an idea of reliance on society instead of yourself as an individual. That said it's a good idea to always have someone to help out, especially on journeys or activities which can be dangerous alone. I'm not saying it's not good advice, but it's used for ulterior means which is why you had to peddle it religiously and why normalfag NPCs will judge you for it.
>>2874482>Is it really that nuts? You don't have children, so no one would care if you died.
"I did a thing and nothing bad happened to me" is boomer-tier logic.
>>2874520Niggers don’t swim. They sink pretty damn well though.>>2874527Do Zoomers hate dopamine? Or is it a low T thing?

Wear A Life Jacket
>>2874482My brothers best friend friend was going for a dip and asked him to come, but he couldn't. He drowned that day.It really is that serious. Dont swim alone for fucks sake.
>>2874482Most hazard warnings are intended for the lowest common denominator. If you know what you're doing and both understand and accept the inherent risks it's fine.
>>2874482must be some weird regional thing. I never heard anyone say never swim alone
>>2874654>He drowned that dayskill issue
>>2874855everybody wants you to drown
Wear Your Life Jacket!
Life jacket!And a wetsuit.
>>2874482Yeah it's dangerous if you go into rapid rivers or quarries. If you swim in small lakes or creeks nothing will happen.
>>2874993I knew a kid who got caught in a tree and died in a lake.“Jeremiah was a bullfrog he died in millidgeville lake!”
Remember, buckle up and wear it tight.

>>2874820>inherent risksThis thread is full of people claiming there are none.
>>2875092this thread is full of autists who have great difficulty processing the gradient nature of reality and demand definitive yes/nos where they simply aren't possible.
the life jacket stays on
>>2874531Have compassion foryour fellow man.
>>2875794>fellow man Kek.
>>2875763I wanna drown in a sea of pussy
>>2874482I pretty much only swim alone because none of my friends or family give a fuck about swimming or boating and all think I'm a crazy person for hearing the call of the sea. I'm also a borderline albino that prefers to swim on overcast/rainy days when nobody else is on the beach. If a current seems sketchy or there is lightning or sharks I just bail, because I'm very aware nobody is around to save my ass.
>>2875110Fair enough.
>>2874482t. american.whats next, dont hike alone?you guys are just so afraid of stuff.
