No but seriously, why cant i just buy a cabin and live there instead of a normal house?
Its cheaper, more private and gives me great opportunity to do outdoor activities. Lots of cabins run on solar and have adequate plumbing, yet the cost remains low. Only thing i could think would be a challenge is winter, but even then i think a 4x4 and backup heating/electricity and lots of firewood. It would also give good homesteading opportunities.

Because you're whining about it on the internet instead of doing it.

i bugged out to appalachia about a year ago and build this little starter cabin. it only cost $200 to build and is super cheap to maintain. now i have all the time in the world.

Work/life balance. Anything that isn’t prohibitively expensive will be excessively far from where people work and where their extended families live. Anything that’s close to work isn’t very far removed from civilization and will be expensive.

The only real tradeoff is location. Many states won’t allow you to live in a cabin unless it lives up to certain codes. The workaround in many places is to buy a place that’s zoned for agriculture. The price is right though. Especially if you have a good work from home job or the money saved

You can. You just need to take into consideration food, water, electricity (if you so choose), heating, how to cover costs for things that you can’t/won’t source yourself. You also need to consider your own morale. Having lived in a cabin for several years, it’s actually quite psychologically demanding, so you need some way to keep your head screwed on straight.

Anon you lost your mind back then
Youre still in the cabin

If only. Now I work in an office. Can you believe that shit?
