I usually don't bother with boots because they're tedious to put on and I don't roll my ankle in trail runners etc. That said, are cowboy boots ok for /out/? I'm guessing it's blistertown, but at least they must be fast and easy to wear?

Not even that.
Theyre designed for stirups while you sit in a saddle for an hour then spend 4 minutes on the ground mending a barbed wire fence then youre back in the saddle.
The one thing theyre NOT designed for is walking.
