>14er>trailhead elevation 13875are westoids for real?
>>2876280the 'look' is more important than proper gear and preparation.
>>2876280>no high heels
Oh look, it's the "I never go out but I still want to complain about out" thread. Get a life, you dumb fucks
>>2876280Reminds me of this girl I used to date. She was from Houston and went to Colorado one time and hiked a 14er. She would go on and on about it. We'd drive through central Texas and there'd be a hill and I'd point and say "now that's a 14er right there!" and she would get visibly upset lol.
>>2876744is colorado some kind of meme for peak casual
>>2876870No all texans are like that
>>2876874This one hurts cause it's true.
>>2876280As an Oregonian its funny when Coloradans try to climb our mountains because the elevation is only 11k or so but they've never had any glacial travel experience and get btfo
>>2876470the heels she wears are basically utilitarian sandals grade like at least wear 3" stuff if you want attentionhttps://besttraveltale.com/travel/hiker-drop-jaws-in-fun-outfits-and-heels-she-wears-to-climb-14000ft-mountains/
>>2876280There are 58 Colorado 14ers and not a single one of them requires anything beyond a scramble to summit. Pretty sad, altitude is really all Colorado has going for it.They Canadian Rockies 11ers is a much more impressive list of peaks.
>>2877138it's not that much altitude
>>2877138All peakbagging is dumb, and preferring specific kinds of peaks to bag is even more dumb
>>2877178Nah peakbagging is fun. And it is more fun when the peaks are actually challenging and require you to develop a mix of different technical skills in order to summit.
>>2877178The using a list of peaks as a checklist will force you to climb mountains you wouldn't consider otherwise.
>>2876744Yeah I can tell you're from Colorado
>>2877192Maroon's probably the only one I would never consider doing, sounds like there's a chance of random death from shitty rock
>>2876984I can respect those heels, the loose gravel on some of those trails was really fucking annoying on the downhike and I was wearing boots
>>2877248ok zelensky
>>2877263that image is probably the closest you've ever come to anywhere outside
CA 14ers are respectable with the 5-6k' elevation gain
>>2876280Is peakbagging out west not really a thing since you can drive most of the way up mountains?East coaster and here we'll mention if something's a 4k or not because it's an easy way of communicating how intense of a hike you're going on since there's usually at least 2k' elevation gain.
>>2880099Yeah we drive right up to summits. I managed to take my prius up here.
>>2876280Is that Kate Hikes?
>>2880099There are people in colorado wearing shirts with all the 14ers theyve done. CO is the epicenter of peakbagging. Only a coloradan has asked me whether it was a winter ascent like his was or not.And there are way more mountains that require serious elevation gain in the west than the east. Theres just that many more peaks even with many that have roads higher up nearby. The wilderness areas are way bigger, meaning the peaks in the center can require multiple days and up and down multiple passes to get to. There are hundreds of peaks in the sierra nevada above 12000ft and almost all trailheads are below 9000. Many are lower at like 7 or 6.
>>2876280Oh look, it's another East coaster with shit mountains cope thread.
