I was thinking of putting one inside my ebike repair bag to power my portable tire pump that never holds a charge for more than a few days. Scenario:>get flat tire >must charge tire pump to 25%~ to inflate a fat tireWill one of these portable power banks be reliable enough to charge like 1000mah within 1-2hrs or are they still gimmicky and take all day to charge?
>>2877099If you get a decent one, then you can charge a phone over an hour or so, assuming you have decent sunlight. The quality of the batteries themselves has been an issue in my experience, so I now forego the battery, and simply get larger panels with a USB plug-in. Generally, if the appliance you’re charging is bigger than a handheld, then I doubt it’ll work. But for your phone, gameboy, etc. it’s very nice.

If it's in the cool season or a cloudy day just forget it.A manual pump will let you fill tires as much as you please. Plus if you develop a leak during a ride you may need to refill multiple times to get home.

It must be possible, perhaps requiring little modification, to charge or run from there. The efficiency of those things is so bad that while I hardly get any charge into a device over a full day of riding I have to work for what would be a full charge assuming 1:1 conversion rate.
