Like 6-7 northern pikeminnow, I stopped counting at some point. Lost two lures, one in the most retarded way possible. SAD!
but panther martins still on sale at bimart, and my silver/silver was mangled anyway so not really that sad.

A good range of sizes, all on my custom #2 single hooks. This was the biggest I got pic/video of.

Another fine sized one.
I think the first one I brought in was the biggest, but it got off the hook and dashed as I bent down. There was a big ole one tailing it too that would’ve been a fight.
>>
>>2877322
Thats a solid ine. Sucks about your spinners, but im glad to hear your single hook mods are working well for you.

It’s what I deserve for observing “the tree with 4 spoons/hooks in it” and casting out right under it anyway
>>
>>2877324
I love the fly hook ones. Haven’t even needed pliers yet I just grab the hoop and they come right out. Only one was caught on the open eye siwash today, but that means I’ve caught on all types of the single hooks now, except the barbless factory pm :P
>>
>>2877326
Yeah barbless singles are super easy to deal with. Barbless trebles are a lot nicer than barbed trebles too.

I've gotten burnt out on fishing. I've lost my killer instinct, but fishing is pretty much all there is in my life, which is why I still go out. Just pulled up to a new stream. Hips and back hurt, so I'm just chilling in my trunk for a bit. Getting into fishing was one of the greatest things in my life. I hope to get hooked again.

Will update with fishing report.

Is this a common problem, or am I doing something wrong?
My FG knot is solid, but after a couple of hours of going through the guides, the Rizzuto finish undoes its self slightly until there is enough of a tag end to stop that, at which point it frays like pic rel.
If I do nothing to the frayed tag end, it usually stays solid, but it’s annoyingly ugly and I assume can cause a problem.
If I trim it off again, the finish usually continues to undo itself, and can eventually compromise the FG knot itself.
Any advice or experience?
>>
>>2877405
I cut my tag long when i tie an FG knot so that it frays out like that intentionally, it keeps the knot from unfurljng, doesnt seem to cause any problems, and i can use it as a sighter for slack line/semislack line presentations where im more watching for line movement than feeling for a bite

>spits it out before I can set the hook and darts away
>the bluegill fuck off from all the commotion
Fishing is Lyfe
And Lyfe is suffering

Another thing I’ve noticed is that when I leave it frayed like that, I’ll sometimes get little fish attacking it.
This happened the other day when I was fishing a whopper plopped really shallow.
If I paused long enough, I could see them biting at the frayed portion like it was the tail of an inline spinner.
I’ve felt it happening pausing while dragging a Carolina rig too, so I’d like to cut the tag flush if this isn’t normal and I’m just doing something wrong with the finish
>>
>>2877408
Here's what you could do instead: Albright knot. It's a very strong braid to mono/fluoro knot that will work for similar diameter lines and lines with vastly different diameters.
>>
>>2877408
I've had bluegill attack every leader knot from blood knots in fly leaders to fg knots on braid, ive even had them attack the point where my line entersthe water and there wasnt even a knot there , i dont think removing the tag or changing knots is going to make it stop. If you put a drop.of super glue on your tag it should keep it from unraveling. It wont add any inherent strength, though so just know you're only gluing it to keep the tag from fraying.

I just decided to get back into fishing. i used to fish with a rod/reel with lures. I barely caught anything which is disheartening. I just moved and there's quite a lot of non-predatory freshwater fish. I want to fish with the same rod/reel combo and use a float. What kind of rig should i make? I'd like to be able to quickly swap between the float setup and lures.
>>
>>2877424
A standard bobber rig with a clip bobber will come apart readily; the float comes off with spring clips the just tie on your lure. To go baxk to bobbers tie on a hook and clip on the bobber.

I’ll try a drop of glue, or just get over it then if it’s a pain in the ass
>>
>>2877432
Id strongly reccomend just getting over it but if you're happier playing with glue by all means do it
>>
>>2877404
Lol. My friend wanted to try this. I usually get a private charter or take our own boat.
Can already see land again

Was alright. Everyone seemed to know enough not to cause any problems. Only a handful of keeper fish for us. Big kingfish and some big cobia, mangrove and red snapper on the boat. Triggers and jacks. I'll post a couple fish photos when I get a chance

ever been spooled? i decided to run light tackle for my inshore salt water fishing the other day and of course i hooked onto something mondo. i had 150 yards of 10lb braid with a 20 lb leader. he kept running so hard, i clamped down the drag and snapped it off instead of losing all my line.
>>
i hate ops image, that being said, if i go dry next saturday it marks my 5 week no catch streak.

Salmon and steelhead season approacheth. Amen hallelujah peanutbutter.
>>
Went fishing with my son, just walking around a quiet lake, small hook and a split shot, both using little 4lb test setups, letting chunks of worm sit on the bottom until bluegill sucked them up. We fried them whole for supper. I fucking miss simple fishing.
>>
>>2877476
My lady can't stand the smell of fish and refuses to let me cook it, so salmon season does nothing for me except make it harder for me to catch other things without catching a salmon.
>>
>>2877405
This always happens and is completely normal.
