>live around some of the most stunning nature in the entire world
>spend all day inside my room with the lights off and curtains closed
Why the fuck am I like this? There are people living in concrete jungles who'd give anything to live where I do yet I don't even enjoy it.

I have severe arachnophobia and only go out in late fall-early spring
summer is off limits except for fishing because wolf spiders grow to the size of my hand
>I once beat a man who told me he had a spider in a cup and tried to give it to me

Luckily I'm fine with spiders. I've had multiple instances where Funnel Web Spiders were crawling around on my body. You don't panic, you just stay clam and flick them off when you have the chance.

Do you actively not enjoy the outdoors or are you saying you don’t enjoy it from the verb sense and that you live there but don’t spend the time to do it?
If it’s the former, then it’s fine. Not everybody likes everything. People in coastal places that don’t like seafood talk about it all the times
If it’s the latter, then I know exactly what you mean. I’ll get down and internally bitchy about my own life and have to stop to manually apply perspective that things are actually really good. I live in a house that I own. While it’s not as common on this particular board, I think of all the anons who unhappily live in small spaces. If I go to walk around in my house, the longest length from the back of my hallway to my kitchen is a highly satisfying distance to pace while thinking about things. If I add turns I have even way more space. If I go outside, I walk out into my own property with even more open space. Any time of night I can go outside and be safe in an area that’s mine. How many anons can do that? Some, surely, but how many more pine for a place and some space of their own? Seems like a lot.
So I try to remember that when I get all stupid about it and then actually appreciate what I have. Just go outside and enjoy it for them, if you have no other motivation. I’m lucky to be in a suburb that kept a lot of wooded areas and open space but actual nature in my area is pretty lacking. Just enjoy it for people like me unless you actually hate the experience for some reason.

i think once you put up a tent it's surprisingly secure and rids you from any anxiety regarding what might crawl out of the knee/waist high green any second even after the rain when the crickets are chirping the loudest and grass is dense so much even walking is inconvenient
before i spent a night out like that i used to think that a band of snails, scorpions, spikey caterpillars, snakes, grasshoppers would just be drawn to the heat of the camp and would terrify you more than any potential of large animal appearing

So for big thinking about outdoors
