How do you deal with normgrels who refuse to buy any proper gear to go on an actual hike after asking you to take them with you? I fucking hate these people, if you can't even bother with buying a decent pair of boots don't even ask.

tell them what equipment they need before they go with you, stop being autistic...
people like OP genuinely believe you're not truly /out/ until you spend thousands of dollars on gear, but in reality the ultimate /out/ist are like hermits and homeless people

>autist without a working theory of mind is upset that others can't read his thoughts
many such cases.
>>
>>2880033
Did you try telling them what they would need instead of assuming they would know inherently?
>>
Also why would you take noob hikers on a trip they'd need specialized equipment for?
>>
>>2880041
Gotta keep the death rates up or mountaineering loses clout
>>
Those guys all seem finely dressed to me… what are they missing OP?
>>
>>2880033
how would you feel if you hadn't had breakfast this morning?
>>
>>2880033
>muh booooots
This says enough about you, OP. You probably spend $2000 just to sleep in the forest 200m from a trail. I can go barefoot and it wouldnt even bother me.

wow you're such a tough guy
come back once you've gone full naked caveman without any clothes to show everyone who's boss

fuckboys should stick to car glamping at the designated spots

What do you define as a decent pair of boots though OP. My gf was insistent on me buying a 400 buck pair of meindl shoes before she took me to the alps for the first time (Max 1700m+/- per day) and I refused. I used my bottom of the line Columbias cause I wanted to get rid of them and surprisingly I survived.

I don't give a fuck what people wear when theyre hiking, but it is hilarious to see yuropeans wearing their slippers, capri pants and their little faggy purses.
>>
>>2880033
Try teaching them? If their interest is legitimate they'll listen. If not then yeah thry can fuck off.

Gear wont stop people from being retards. I went on a out trip with a guy once for his first time and despite him bringing all this gear and over preparing, bringing even more than me, he managed to get such bad sun burn that he gave up and went home after a day and a half.
He didn't know that if you're gonna spend all day in the sun, that you'll probably burn. Even more so at higher elevations.
>>
>>2880033
>boots
You don't need boots to hike.
Stop acting like a fucking woman.

Different anon, but I like to hike up mountain streams nude. The only thing you want are a pair of crocs or water shoes and some insect repellent to ward off the horseflies.
