At what distance can a hike be considered "long"?
>>28805897.4 miles with 847 ft elevation gain
>>2880589More than a days travel in and out I'd say
anything more than a quarter mile or 100 ft elevation gaint. fat
>>2880590that’s pretty flat for a 7 mile hike I would say. is a 2 mile hike long if it has 850 feet of elevation gain?
>>2880589Four hours or so for me but I'm a scrub.
>>2880589when you realize going back is going to be a hard ordeal
>>2880589When you have to pack a meal
>miles >ft
>>2880755You gave up your country for the metric system, how does it feel?
>>2880786you've blown up a spacecraft baceuse of the imperial system. how does it feel?
>>2880589It obviously depends on your fitness level. But I consider above 20km to be long.If it takes all day and your legs ache then it's long. But I have friends who that would be true of walking 4 miles on the flat.
If you have to stay overnight to get back to the trailhead. If you're dayhiking you're really just going for a walk. There's nothing wrong with that either.
>>2880589If you need to cook a meal during.
>>2880786kek, touch regolith son.
>>2880638Shit, I'm fat and go 3-4 miles with around 500ft gain starting from over 8k
>>2881113Imperial is inherently based, just the name alone "imperial" has more grandeur and status than chud "metric." Also, imperial is based in tradition and history, whereas metric was literally just made up by some self hating french libtards because the mention of God and Royalty made them seethe and cope.
>>2880647I took my two out of shape brothers on a hike where we climbed 3k ft over 2 miles and it gassed them even though it took less than two hours one way. Length doesn't mean difficulty, any mountain hiker knows that last quarter mile scramble can take longer than much of the rest of the distance
>>2880589it doesn't just depend on distance but i'd say longer than 5 hours at a moderate pace for a healthy adult
>>2880755The US mile is a geodesic system. It is literally based on the length in feet (Sumerian system) of 1 arc minute of angle of longitude on Earth at 30 degrees north/south (88x60). The US nautical mile is literally also a geodesic of the Earth and is based on the length in feet of 1 arc minute of angle on Earth at exactly 0 degrees latitude. This is where it gets more esoteric. In numerological systems there only exists the numbers 1 through 9, zero is null. The numbers 3 6 and 9 can only multiple/add to themselves, 9 specifically can only do this to itself all 9's are reduced to 9 in every single possible calculation, 9 can also substitute numerologically for 0, making it a sort of cyclical master number, with 3 and 6 as resonance points. Let's take a quick rough look at some things...7920 miles = Earth diameter US approx = 1+8 = 92160 miles = Earth diameter US approx = 9864,000 mi = Sun diameter US approx = 9234,000 mi = Moon to Earth distance surface to surface US approx = 108.333 Moon diameters = 9, 234 also is 9360 (as in ideal days of the years) = 9All polygonal angles other than circular arcs = 9, there are also special ones with 3 or 6 as well5,280 ft = 15 = 6 special resonance of 912 months of the years in an approx 18.6 years cyclicity with the Moon-Sun. 12 = 386,400 seconds in a day = 9 (Solar diameter)43,200 seconds in 12 hours (432 = 9)A base 12 system (and 3, 6, 9) is more precise for a geodesic on an oblate spheroid geometry than a base 10 system. Driving 60 mph on Earth at 30 degrees north/south will take you exactly 1 arc second per real temporal local second of time, and 1 arc minute (5,276 ft) per real minute of travel, and 1 arc hour per real hour of time. The US mile (5,280 feet) is 99.9% accurate to the geodesic, literally (4/5280).
>>2883792*2160 miles = Moon* diameterAlso more "coincidences" (can't have dozens-hundreds of coincidences in a row related to each other now before we get called pseuds can we). 7.83 = fundamental node Schumann resonanceSolfeggio frequencies = all 3 6 9 master resonance in hz, 432 hz tune also 98 hour day slop = 8+8+8 = 24 hours = 6Astronomical sphere = all 3 6 9 due to universal geometry (some call it sacred geometry etc), even all global religions/spiritual teachings are based on this including the dates of Christmas (Sol Invictus/3 days after winter equinox) and Easter/Pass over/Chinese new year (related to spring equinox and the lunar cycle around this time). This specific study is called astrotheology (macrocosm, God's creation), there is an even more esoteric branch of this called biotheology (microcoscm, also God's creation). And even a specific study of the slight imperfections in numerological ideals vs actual reality, being a purposeful imperfection/slight variation. In esoteric ontological philosophy/universal philosophy the mind/consciousness is both local and non-local and indestructible and eternal, the only mode of ontology/fundamental node, in esoteric circles consciousness is also represented by the number 9 (everything, everywhere, all at once, and here and now, cyclical and eternal, life/death/rebirth, quantum immortality/consciousness, eternity and infinity no end or beginning even with cycles and without cycles etc). The "star of david" is actually an esoteric representation of the master key of reality, merkaba 3d, metatron's "cube", it is a geometric numerical formula that can create every single possible shape/form in all realities (esoteric spiritual mastery). This is related to outdoors in the sense that everything outdoors is also constructed/perceived with universal geometry, philosophy, and consciousness. Most Americans know nothing about any of this however, even though it is literally in their religions, the US $1, everywhere.
>>2880589Stage 1.When you're starting to sway, yeah that's long now. Stage 2.When the 'this is what we came for' wears off and survival instinct starts to kick in, that's probably a bit too long. Bonus points for running out of water.
>>2880589id say 20km + 1,5k up&down. form me the point is when it starts to degrade my performance on the next day
