Best season for comfy
based insect hate thread
>>2880789summer is cancer herehigh humidity, shit ton of black flys and mosquito fall is so much comfier
>>2880789Each season has it's good and bad things. Summer is to enjoy the beach and the sea. Autumn is to enjoy the forest and mountains. Winder to enjoy snow. And spring to enjoy beautiful flowers. Only liking one season and hating the others is limiting yourself to what you can do all year.
>>2880789The best is having coastal trails for summer so you can make stops to swim and refresh yourself, and mountains for the rest of the year.Damn I love living between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean sea, the best of both worlds.
>>2880901and for me it’s the opposite. every morning the outside of my tent is dripping wet
what do you do when you're spending nights /out/ alone when sun sets 6 hours before you usually go to sleep?I like reading books, but not for 6 hours straight
>Autumn So pretentious and fruity. Just call it Fall
i hated summer living in the west coast but now that I live in the east its the season with the most rain so now I love all seasons, ill say one thing about us west coasters, none of us know that summer was the rainy season over here in the east
I'm a spring/early summer fag because botany.
>>2880789Autumn is great but I know 6 hours a day of daylight is coming soon. On the plus side skiing is back on the menu
>>2881319The enjoyment you get from seasons is entirely regional. It's a bit silly to say you love summer or fall or whatnot, when summer in two different places are two completely different experiences. In upstate Michigan or Maine or Northern California all four seasons are lovely. In Coastal Georgia all four seasons are dog shit. In Southern Alaska summer is paradise on earth, in Florida summer is hell on earth.
Fall is my best season, then winter because I llike winter sports like cross country skiing and snow mobiling, then summer for the lake swimming and spring is the worst because everything is covered in mud from melting snow
>>2881375>Mainemaine has liek 2 months a year that arent miserable. the summers are super humid and nasty, the winter has no sun and takes up 8 months of the year. it really does suck.
>>2881387bro I live in Minnesota which is 10x worse and I love winter, you are in out get into winter sportsI do ice fishing, cross country skiing, snow mobiling, down hill skiing and even go for hikes in snow shoes
>>2881388how is it 10x worse? google says it gets more sunlight and has slightly more snow.maine is mostly rural. even the southern part the biggest city is 70k people. the infrastructure is terrible (rated worst in america actually) and you lose power every winter in rural areas. sometimes for days. the roads are all fucked, the salt eats cars. heat and electric is super expensive and the pay is shit there. a lot of people cant afford to just head down to whatever ski hill every weekend, its mega expensive for people there. maine has one of the highest tax to pay ratios in the US, i believe number 1 right now. you arent doing winter sports more than once a month lol. the winter sports are commuting to work in dogshit conditions and having to wait in line to wash your car every few days.maybe you can ice fish or snowmobile, i dont know. ive never done those. what almost everyone does instead is stay in doors on the internet and additionally get into substance abuse. thats what maine for young people mostly is.its just an unfortunate place to live unless youre doing very well. its a playground for retirees not a place for anyone under the age of 50 to live fulfillingly.
>>2881389and you think Minnesota isn't rural?Your winters are nothing, per google, Average winter temperatures in Maine range from about 25°F in the far south to below 15°F in northern and interior regionsin Minnesota its -25F in January and February and yet I am still out there, rural is great it means you can hike in the snow in the woods or take your cross country skis, that doesn;t cost you basically anything, I got my skis from goodwill for $20, you sound like you are depressed man, go out and do things in the winter.
>>2881392have you been to maine? minnesota may have rural parts. you have at least 10 cities that are larger than the largest city in maine by far, portland. the next closest are bangor and lewiston. its a tiny place with few people. mostly old people.i dont think you are comparing data points correctly. taking a random northern town in minnesota, "embarrass minnesota" the mean is only 6 degrees colder on average for jan / feb compared to portland (a very warm area in maine). from what i can tell on google it has colder temp spikes but it is not colder on average in the way you are saying.>I got my skis from goodwill for $20k bro ski lift tickets are minimum 30 dollars a day, not counting entrance ticket price. you gonna walk up the hill manually too? you can do stuff in winter but not many people actually do.
>>2881394bro croos country skiis which I am talking about require no lifts, you use them on flat landI don't know what to tell you, you are on /out/ figure it out, I go ice fishing in a torn up ice fishing tent I got on auction for $20
>>2881394Yo he is right, new england winter is one of the brightest jewels of usa /out/. Nordic skiing is extremely based and underrated and maine is probably one of the best places to do it, boomers garage sale great old skis all the time, get some skis, boots, a thrift store iron for glide waxing, and a liquid stick for shitty snow. Easily, easily come in under $100. I have some more "back country" ish skis with metal edges and the logging roads are all mine all winter, get back and hit the wood stove, feels good man. I miss VT.
>>2881389Nigga is on /out/ bitching about a state not having enough urban amenities LMAO
>>2881455I was just on a 2 week grand tour of mountain new england and it really was mostly old people, more than any other place I have visited, and kinda fading older ski resorts, not that I want glitzy but it just seemed kinda basic and sad, there were young people in burlington, but nowhere else I visited tho I didn't really spend much time in larger townsjust seemed like canada - a place so far north most people stay away for good reason, and its less flat than say the UP of michigan so its even less settled than that
>>2881457What's the matter eastoid, not enough brown people for your liking?
>>2881458There were plenty at the big popular tourist traps also Russians/Ukranian tourists are just as noisy as jeets if not so trapped-in-their-own-world. My issue was it felt like it was fading and just a playground for retirees like others have said. It didn't feel like a real place. And way less industrial than Appalachia, and I just didn't see many young people apart from Montpelier and Burlington. One funny thing I noticed is that esp. in New Hampshire every small little town has a hole-in-the-wall Thai restaurant.
>>2881458lol, new england has PLENTY of brown people. portland's public school system is 40% ESL africans for example. they account for literally 98% of the welfare budget in the city in fact. that is not an exaggeration either. a quarter of the entire state under 30 is nonwhite last i checked.
>>2881461Omg a quarter under 30??? Nigga when I was in school I was one of three white boys in the entire school
>>2881469i was told by someone whos kids attended the school that their kid was one of a few white kids in the entire grade. so its not far off.maine just sucks, take my word for it bro.
>>2881457This is about right. My first time living in New England was Burlington, so I assumed most of New England was like that. But VT's its own little world and within that, Burlington is its own.The rest of Northern New England is either retirees, very sad caricature-tier blue collar townies, or old money on the coast. It's not a desirable place to live unless you move there already having money and a wife/family. Very little upward mobility and a very small pool for dating or even making friends you share interests with.NH also has a weird obsession with mid 20th century nostalgia. I think because of how many elderly people are there. It makes it charming on a family vacation, but I can't wait to get out.
>>2881593Maine's cooked. The politics are about as far left as VT now and the people somehow even more out of touch. In 10 years, most notable towns in Maine will be considered a ghetto in the middle of the woods.
>>2881777I only briefly drove through Burlington, at sunset. Seemed very lively, lots of young people about, but also some blacks and hijab wearing Muslims. Definitely was the most happening part of my trip. New Hampshire was weird - I have not been before and it is like stepping back in time to some retired boomer 1960s fantasy world. Also just very very old in general (the people). >It makes it charming on a family vacationit's a lot more financially predatory than appalachia is, don't get me wrong you can pay 30 dollars for grandfather mountain or whatever for an expensive ski lift ticket at beech mountain or snowshoe, but vermont and new hampshire was just over and over getting fee raped - even to park and see views and waterfalls - tho at least the price was like 2-4 dollars at the little ones - michigan wants 12 dollars a day for state park access >>2881778I had fun visiting Camden years ago. Wanna go back and do the normie tourist stuff climbing acadia/cadillac mtn
>>2881778yeah its really, really bad. i moved.theres no hope for that place man. everyone is a fucking clueless redditor level retard or extreme boomer.if youre not in healthcare or have a trustfund staying in maine is going to make you poor indefinitely. even if they had extremely good leadership starting right this second, its going to take a decade at least to undo the damage done by retarded policies. just up front the policies have stagnated building much needed housing. theyre like 70k houses short of what they needed for their 2030 goal. its explicitly because of retarded policies.
>>2881784you don't need more houses you need to replace the old ones with new ones, and have less people, specifically brown folks that don't pull their weight, but that won't happen nobody wants to live densely stacked on top of other people
>>2881798its really an insignificant amount compared to the whole. young people leave and old people move in. the net migration has been positive for 50+ for awhile. its been net negative for under that for most years i believe.its another case of shooting themselves in the foot. the asylum seekers drive up costs insanely high in the populated parts and it causes working, young people to leave. they double down and bring more asylum seekers. only rich old people can afford to live there comfortably. its stupid.
>>2881799>young people leave and old people move inthat's what old people wantto be left alone in a quiet place with privacythey are getting what they want I thought Appalachia was extreme in youth drain, but New England is way worse. I mean yeah New England has larger towns and obviously the coastal cities don't have this issue, Rich old people want to live amongst only other rich old people. I was driving through Vermont and kept thinking hmm what happens when the old people die..
>>2881805i dont really blame them desu. but they bitch about cost of living and healthcare issues without a care for the effects of their voting. it also costs the government an insane amount of money because they have to pay people so much to live there. theyve turned maine into a death trap economically for young people.but basically they priced me out of the land my family has been in for 200+ years so i am mad about it.iirc more than half the people that live in maine werent born in mainei dont think theres a light at the end of the tunnel for "what happens when the old people die". theyll just turn it into vacation homes. a huge amount of the homes in maine are already vacation homes.they turned so many apartments into airbnbs in portland and made no restrictions on it.
>>2881114I read for 6 hours GAY, desu.
shut up faggots. talk autumn, post autumn.
>>2880789no such thing as autumn in florida, only endless summers
meh forgot my power bank outside and i don’t want to go there because its so cold and im comfy in the sleeping bag
What's up with the normie uniform? Ever single mainland chink or basic white girl has the same patagonia nano (micro?) puff jacket, or the REI version of it. I tried some on and it feels terrible, the thing doesn't breath at all and wearing a grid fleece with a rain shell over it gets much better ventilation with pit zips and the same warmth.
>>2880789Lads it’s SOUP SEASON
>>2882109Florida is an environment made for brown people. So glad I escaped
>>2882477Poorfag cope. Sometimes looking cool is more important, you should try it sometime, maybe you'll eventually get some puss
Ahhh...autumn
>>2882540Based WHITE man weather (minorities hate this!)
>>2882561>cucked by his own tardationmany such cases. sad!
