Yeah, its called a "cat hole", and should be 6 inches deep and atleast 70 paces from trail and water sources.

Or you can just hold it and understand your stomach well enough to know when you'll be near a privy or portapotty.
Easiest just sleeping near one and morning dumping.

Only really pooped in a hole maybe half a dozen times.
Privy princessed most of it.
