I have a job where I often talk to all types of people about the weather and one thing ive never understood is the natural inclination to associate a rainy cloudy day with bad feeling. I get not wanting to get soaked but to me theres this immediate blissful feeling when I breathe in the air from a rainy day. Im sure you could reference our evolutionary history, rain put out fires and tattered your home but it also made for a more bountiful crop, nowadays places that dont get enough rain suffer for it. I live for the rain and as an avid hiker im way more likely to want to tromp through the woods on a misty day or even rainy day.
>>2881273Its easy to enjoy as a day hiker. Not as a backpacker. When you cant dry your tent before you pack it everything sucks. Having to gear up just to piss in the night sucks. Dealing with rain gear and pack covers and extra dry clothes sucks. And there is no effective rain gear that is breathable enough when working hard.
>>2881310Yeah I get that but its not just in regards to hiking that I made the thread. To me a day of light errands is infinitely more pleasant in the rain, same with a relaxing day on my porch
Pic related. Spending as much time as I can outside even on my shift
>>2881273Us rain lovers are a rare breed. Stay strong brother, rains is hard job.
>>2881358All sensitive young men (white) like Napoleon or Lord Byron love the rain. It's only brownoids and women and NPCs who hate rain. Rain helps that plants grow and raises the water level in the river helping the salmon run
>>2881358Heh literally enjoying a rainy drive this early morn, I go to the minimart and right in front of me old boomer is talking to the clerk>good day to you >well yeah hope it gets better>just drizzling right now could be worseMore or less like that and im just lurking thinking man its rained like 2 days of the last 2 weeks and these guys are whining. On my porch appreciating it right now because before I know it itll be winter and wont see rain til spring
Rain chads rise up
>>2881273i have this collegue that wont show up at the office if there is even the tiniest bit of clouds in the skyit is getting ridiculous at this point
>>2881358its good if you don’t need to be exposed to it. it sucks if you’re out on a bicycle for example. you also need extra gear to cope with it and might not have when the surprise rain comes. so many times they predict no rain only for it to rain like crazy
>>2881273I think it comes more from duration of the rainy weather. Day after day after day of cold ,wet weather does take a physcological toll. It one thing to bask in the refreshing storm of a nice long stratiform event for a day or 2 but month after month of rarely seeing the sun and constantly being wet doesnt seem that great...and maybe that general feeling has been extrapolated to rainy day=bad day syndrome. But I love bad weather so I dont count.
>>2881273Well the answer is in your own replies about how you are just sitting on your porch not even being exposed to it you larper
