I cannot seem to find a backpack that has at least two (upper and lower) dedicated externally accessible zippered pockets on the outside like this pack does. They stopped making this pack years ago, but all the similar size (20-30L) packs I am looking at - and I do want something slightly larger to hold more changes of clothes - don't seem to have as useful a pocket arrangement where I can have two pockets on the back where I can access important stuff like medication and my wallet from without having to totally open up the main pack.

Pic related is what I use now, but it falls apart after a while and isn't that sturdy. I'd like something that lasts longer without falling apart, and is slightly bigger, but not too much bigger.

Look for military backpacks.
They are last ones worth it.
Miltech if I remember.

All greedy bastards started making nowadays backpacks witb no pockets to cut the costs and have higher profits.

Osprey stratos 34L has two back outer pockets, a top pocket, and hip pockets also big enough for the items mentioned. The lower vol ones start to lose pockets. The one I have is new but I have put a lot of other osprey packs through rough bushwacking and work gear hauling
