I'll be travelling around picrel early next year, especially PR. I've never been to the area and have never done any serious hiking in the tropics, so I'd like to make the most of it. I fear they'll suck since they seem to be beach resort destinations first and foremost. Is there potential for 2 to 3 day hikes? Any tips on what do to or avoid? I speak Spanish so that's not an issue. I also scuba dive so any recommendations there are welcome too.

Let's turn this into a tropical /out/ general. Share your stories hiking in Indonesia, Guatemala, the Amazon and beyond.
