Back in the good old days this had some really interesting content but you can thank the usual suspects for supressing anything worth discussing to enable the garbage.
This board used to have rich discussions, but over time the brandfags and dramafags took over. Brand circlejerks became a thing where you'd better praise everything a fujislug made no matter how garbage, because shooting with a Fuji and putting some white borders meant it was to be revered as art. It's demographics. As people get older they tend to "get a life" eventually and have less time to spend here or leave altogether. This affects quality posters moreso than garbage posters.

This drop in quality drives away even more of the quality posters and only garbage people remain eventually

Switching to something that isn’t shit will make good technique significantly more worthwhile. With FF and a very basic IS lens ala 24-120 f4 I have never needed a tripod even at 8pm, IS100 f8 0.5s-1s territory with handheld bracketing to cover extreme highlights and all the controls to do this at my fingertips.

And while that impresses autists I can also just take the fucking picture and move on, even if the single handheld shot is technically only as good from a chart standpoint as a max effort rebel t2i composite, a sane person would understand the massive real life advantage of just being able to take the photo and go, and go home with the same good enoughness of a max effort bracketed panorama from an ewaste camera. I think people should buy once, cry once, and get as much performance and resale value in what they start out with because the only thing worse than failing photography, is trying and failing photography with a brand new low end crop sensor canon kit that ran over a thousand that nobody else wants to buy for more than half of what they paid. After getting frustrated having to learn an actual art in addition to your favorite topics, photoshop tricks, tripod tips, and equivalence. And photography loses another one!

With solid body electric guitars the body "quality" can affect sustain but not much else. The tone comes from the pickups, the geometry, and most importantly what's downstream (amp, pedals, etc). Valve amps are quite nice and while digital processing has come a long way and can in some cases manage to sound indistinguishable from tubes, it takes some serious sound engineering skill (or good presets) to do so. Given the choice between an AxeFX and a tube amp I'd pick the latter. Eddie Van Halen famously played a guitar hacked together from spare parts and it sounded great.

the janitors and moderators are selected from ordinary 4chan users. they do not have to meet any moral or post quality standard, they just have to swear loyalty, sign a brutally restrictive and hostile contract, and give 4chan (as well as israeli and US intelligence) their full dox. there are confirmed cases of other boards worst shitposters ending up as jannies and mods (a spammer who always posted animal abuse on /an/, then became the mod of /an/ and then later the mod of /out/ for example).

they can and do spy on posters they don't like and fuck with them. there is even a mod option to give a specific user harder captchas.

some /p/ users who have allegedly made it onto the staff roster for at least some period of time:
moopco (may have been fired after only deleting the other side of political arguments he participated in)

i left when IG became more practical for sharing because /p/ users had accounts but so did my friends, too bad it's been garbage for years now.

at some point i also just stopped taking as many photos because i had shot almost every location in my local area, so i really only get my camera out for trips now.
