The "Cityscape" EditionPreviously: >>4507850Thread Question:>Who taught you the most about photography and what's the most memorable thing they said?
>Who taught you the most about photography and what's the most memorable thing they said?He was an enthusiast of photography, however, we never talked about it or any serious topic since he died when I was 11yo and he used to live a bit far away from me. I dunno if there is some genetic component or just a subconscious decision but also I share a lot of personality traits from him and other pastimes like reading. I learned some stuff from all the magazines and books he had about photography that I have discovered from his stuff.Unfortunately I can't remember anything memorable.
not really a cityscape
>Who taught you the most about photography and what's the most memorable thing they said? Before I buy my first camera, I saw a couple of videos from the YouTube channel “35milimetros”, from Ronaldo Nene. He talked in such a enthusiastic way about photography that got me into buying my first camera. Although I can’t remember an exactly quote from him
>>4509594>Who taught you the most about photography and what's the most memorable thing they said?I can't actually identify any photography teacher who's had a significant part to play in the development of my photography skills, such as they are. I've mostly learned by trial and error, testing everything out on my own. Still, I owe a lot to the internet in general: forums, discussion boards, YouTube and Wikipedia, etc., archive.org, etc., etc.As for the most memorable thing I've ever heard, it was from a substitute teacher for my photography class at tertiary school: "you won't take a good photo until you've taken ten thousand photos." It didn't matter if it was true or not, I was still young and impressionable enough to take it seriously and it got me out taking photos.
>>4509594>>Who taught you the most about photography and what's the most memorable thing they said?Cliff Mautner:>First, get a picture. Then, get a better picture.
>>4509594>>Who taught you the most about photography and what's the most memorable thing they said?My high school photography teacher, he was a boomer. We were shooting film SLR in photography class and we also developed the film. It was fun. The most memorable thing he said was how he enjoyed the morphine during his recent hospital visit. I'll never forget his smile when the told the whole class.>>4509655>>4509733>>4509741Nice!>>4509725My favorite pic so far
>>4509594>Who taught you the most about photography and what's the most memorable thing they said?No one's taught me much of anything about photography, I had to learn it all for myself. I don't say this as a point of pride however, as it is very lonely and frustrating sometimes.
>>4509602Damn your photo brings back memories for me. I haven't been to Flensburg in years, but spent some good years there studying. Coincidentally I also went fishing and snapping pics often kek

>>4509805This. Toxo posting at its finest. No normal, sane, person gives a shit about dogs vs. cats. We got mr. toxo himself writing fanfictions about the superiority of all cat people and inferiority of all dog people /p/ edition. It would be hilarious if it wasn't such a huge part of what killed /p/.

>>4509725I wish I could get my shadows to have that subtle matte look, mine always turn out like shit.
>>4509840Yeah, thank you. The green tinge always makes me feel grody
Bike right tonight.
Ride on Friday.
>>4509841Idk what exactly gives this look. I set the profile as Modern 04, 08 or 10 and then use the curves to rise up the shadows and blacks. I usually turn up a lot the shadows but turn down a little the blacks in the “Light” sliders.
>>4509937The dog really makes the image. Well done, anon
I was somewhere at magic hour today.enjoy.
>>4509934You use the default presets that come with Lightroom? Brave to admit I suppose.
>>4510017Aren’t they different from presets? I guess they are called color profiles or something like that, and then there are presets called presets.
>>4509995Thanks.
>>4510017or maybe you're the stupid one for not trying them? you LIKE the look, why do you have your back up now?
